I watched Cleburne play Dallas Carter on Saturday. Cleburne really should have won. If the Jackets keep improving and eliminate their costly mistakes they can push all three in Everman, Seguin and Burleson for sure. Can Joshua be sneaky?!

Already changing my mind on this. Burleson will probably finish 3rd. Going to come down to Everman/Seguin for 4th. For the Elks the schedule is still a really good one week in and week out. The teams that are usually tough for the Elks will still be. I feel that the district this year as a whole team for team, is improved. That’s a good thing. The Elks are wise to just take it week by week and stay healthy. We’ll see what happens at the end of it all. Y'all smashed Cen10 and didn't even celebrate! That's huge for y'all. Yeah Azle seems like they are improving as a program but don't sell yourselves short. This might be the start to a really good season for y'all. Optimism is ok.

Been beaten down for so long it doesn't seem that optimism is an option. At this point You find yourself kinda waiting to wints and say here it comes. Still have several storms to weather. I keep hearing that Abilene Wylie is more than likely a playoff team and we performed well against them, and Cent10 is supposed to be too but they're in a really tough district top to bottom. It could very well be that Azle may be the best team we will have faced so far especially at their place. That is until we get you guys next week.

I think yall beat Mesquite Poteet in the first round and lose to Lovejoy in the 2nd. I know you are more game to game but thats my overall prediction for yall.

Fair and honest. I’ll take a playoff win. And, to get beaten by Lovejoy would be no shame. I see the Leopards and Cats on another collision course.

Not going to lie, a LJ vs FBM state game would be really interesting to watch. I think we match up well with both of those teams but if we were to lose I'd like to see that game.

But honestly the only way I see you loosing to anyone would have to be in the way of a quirky College Station type of game or just enough of a meltdown at the most inopportune time against somebody that has the ability to take full advantage of it. The meltdown would probably need to be repetitive instead of situational. Repetitive meltdowns don't occur with elite programs. A few calls going the opponents way would also have to be part of that ingredient but I don't see that helping as much sense the CS game whereas now, anything questionable gets reviewed which is a good thing. Aledo is very much again in control of their own destiny which now is #11. There ain't no more and there ain't no less.

Still early in the season but I hope this team takes the mentality that they will grind you down. We do have some kids that can go 75+ for a touchdown but I think this teams bread and butter will be how physical they are in the trenches. Hopefully that separation is still there this year. Although I do think the gap is closing and I do think our overall window is near its end.

Although I do think the gap is closing and I do think our overall window is near its end. . Time catches up to all of us just like a champion fighter who lost their prime. We all have a window of time. Even when there comes the time when you don’t win a championship(s), Aledo will be fine. It’s been one hell of a run and yes, it’s probably not quite over with yet. I believe part of Aledo’s window will start with moving up to 5A DI which will be your next stop. From there I believe that Aledo will go 6A before they would ever split. Obviously you would then be in the company of the highest level of competition but probably one that you would be prepared for because you will have the numbers to. Even though the championships may be harder to come by when that happens you would still have all of the talent under one roof. Burleson split too early when they did it and it wound hurting the Elks as well documented and you’ve seen how long it has taken to get back to a level of respectability. I know that the AISD folks won’t let that happen prematurely. And if you ever do split you’ll be ready. FYI- I have family that reside in the AISD and have nieces and nephews that are Bearcats so if you’re wondering why my such interest and intrigue.

No doubt in my mind that Burleson vs Arlington Seguin is the game of the week in 5-5AD2. Very possible that the team that loses this game misses the playoffs.

Lots of teams 1-1 in district. Almost every week is a must win for Burleson, Everman, Timberview, Seguin, and Cleburne. If someone has an off night then they might miss the playoffs. Hopefully the season stays very competitive.

Burleson vs Cleburne and Everman vs Arlington Seguin are the best games this week. Both this games will have a big impact on the playoff picture. Burleson and Everman would be considered the favorites. Personally I think Cleburne and Seguin need to win or they will be all but eliminated for a playoff spot.
