In baseball you get your name announce every time you bat Yeah......but how many are in the stands to hear that name? There really is no comparison in TXHSFB to TXHSBB when it comes to fan support. I do know that Sinton and Calallen draw nice crowds for their baseball teams but it still is not anything close to what football is on a Friday night.

Kids don't realize how fast the opportunity is gone. Kids think it's just talk when adults tell them how fast time flies after high school. Parents need to stop encouraging kids to quit football to focus on baseball. Do the opposite. Play in front of thousands of people in football each week or play in front of 20 people at the baseball diamond lol. It's an easy choice if you ask me. (baseball)West Oso not this year but the year before had one mom on their side of the stand, this past season they let Sinton take up their side also when Sinton played there. Their sport is basketball and they'll pack that gym for that sport. Stop it. Baseball stands are mostly tiny. It's not hard to make them look like they have fans. Look at your comment. Your having to go back in time and cherry pick a game to say there was lots of fans. That happens every week in football.

I'll say this. Football is HARD. Football practice is WAY HARDER than a football game. Football training/weightlifting/etc. is hard, too. By comparison, baseball is like taking a leisurely stroll in a park. Baseball requires more skill, but nowhere near the effort that football does. I can see a kid wanting to take his foot off the "hard pedal"... because hard things suck. Having said that, the reward that comes with doing hard things stays with you, forever. Imagine taking the Alice Coyote football team to places it's never been before. Imagine the reward in that. Football is forever in Texas. Baseball is a nice filler between seasons... but your town isn't going to remember baseball greatness to the same extent as football greatness... that's just the world we live in. To me, if a kid loves football... play it. If a kid loves baseball... play it. If a kid loves soccer... play it. If a kid loves golf... play it. Play them all! This time ends. And when it ends... it ends forever. It's not just the sport itself that ends, it's everything that goes with it... the competitive arena, the family making a big deal out of you, strangers knowing who you are, your town being proud of you, your name in the newspapers, reporters interviewing you... on and on and on. It all ends, and it doesn't come back in any other part of life for 99.99999% of all high school athletes. Soak it in. Enjoy it. Do the hard things. There's so much that you can take with you in your memories moving forward once it ends... if you actually live it. I remember my senior year when the last football game was played and it was all over. Same at the end of Basketball season. Taking off that uniform for the last time was hard. I look back on my senior year and one of the things I am most proud of was playing 4 sports. Leaving everything I had on the fields, court or track for my school and town. Great memories

Our last football game when we got back in the locker room someone turned the radio on and "The Dance" by Garth Brooks was playing. 30 years later and I can picture it like it was yesterday and that song still makes me cry.

Yep. Never forget it for sure, especially the last home game. It really hits you the first time you go home from college and go to a game. Seems weird watching from the stands especially with peeps you played with just the year before still playing.

Alice starts Sunday with their annual Midnight Madness or whatever it is called. I can't imagine they are the only ones doing this. Who else does it?

Weird! The closer we get to the start of the season, the quieter it gets on this board.π³
