Damned fast no doubt, but didn’t Matt Bolling set the Texas and National record two years ago with a 9.98? He was the kid from Strake Jesuit.

His potentially record-setting finish in the 100 surpassed the previous mark of 10.13 seconds recorded by Houston Strake Jesuit’s Matthew Boling, who beat Garcia to set that mark in the 2019 6A State Track & Field Championships on the same track.

They said it was wind aided and it could not count for a record. As was Matt Boling's 9.98 back in 2019. I've no idea what records are anymore but I'm guessing the kid from Harlingen's may be the record for that meet or the state meet. Boling's 9.98 came at a regional meet I believe.

The 9.98 run was at Mike Myers track in Austin at state meet. Yes both races where wind aided and will not count as official records unfortunately.
