Well in Portland we have the usual Whataburger and DQ but a new Burger joint has opened up, Red Line Burger. I haven’t tried one yet but I’m hearing good things so far. I’ve read this is the only Red Line in the area but they will soon open a store in Corpus.

I wish that a Red Robin was in the area. www.padreislandburgercompany.com

Willie G's on University Drive is a good Burger. And one of My personal Favorite Spots Is Smitty K's. They have really good food and its a Sports bar that also Has Live Music.

I’ve read this is the only Red Line in the area but they will soon open a store in Corpus. Red Line used to be a franchise and had drive thru only places all over state at one time and they had a sister brand called Rally's. They started popping up in the late 80s and sometime in the late 90's went out of business and I was still in high school at the time and that was a good deal to spilt with a friend or for a cheap date (LOL) if she was good for a burger and fries along with good hang over food.. LMAO.. Some of their old buildings are still around like one on McArdle across from the Mall in Corpus that is now a taco joint. If I recall, you used to be able to get two burger, fries and drinks for $5 or something like that and they served seasoned fries. I think Vicks in Corpus off Ayers and SPID is another former Red Line location. It looks like someone bought the trademark/ naming rights or maybe the time period expired and someone new is running with it. Heard they are pretty good burgers and wish them the best!

Up here in the Killeen/Cove/Temple area, they have a place called Black Meg's 43. They have a pretty good burger. Also there is a place called Crow's burgers, and it is very good!

If I'm in San Antonio I hit up Chesters for a burger, they have awesome onion rings too. When In Floresville I'm going to Maverick Grill.
