Its Tuesday anybody have any thoughts This will be an extremely good team in BE. They have an outstanding offensive line. They will be fast to the ball. This game will be a significant challenge for Calhoun. It will only make them better no matter what happens.

From what I've read the seem like a bit of a Cornerstone type team. Loaded with talent. But I know very little about them. Good thing is I don't think they know about us either. So, Calhoun needs to run clock as much as possible. Keep their Defense on the field and wear them out. According to DCTF they only returned 5 on Defense, that don't mean they wont be solid. Hopefully after a couple of series our coaches can adjust on the fly and not wait until halftime. All in all I think this will be a good contest. and week 5 vs Second Baptist will be the same.
I do like playing teams we haven't played before.

If I'm not mistaken this is the private school that has 3 offensive guards listed in 247 top 250 in the nation?? I thought they also had another kid on that list as well, maybe a WR? Should be a pretty talented team that PLC is facing and be a good contest and without a doubt help the Sandcrabs improve and get better. I'll take PLC by 9

I'll take PLC by 9 I read somewhere that they have one OL committed to Ohio St and another committed to Oklahoma. I think the Qb may be committed to UAB.

Plus this and the next couple of weeks is where you absolutely don't want to lose a key player or two to injury, so you cross your fingers after every whistle your starters comeback up with a snap. Getting injured this week or next and then being out 2-3 or more weeks means you are into the district schedule where thanks to the district set up, it's a must win every week. Throw in the Covid with cancellations and it compounds everything .

But I like the District being as Tough as it is going to be. Actually wish Sinton and Rockport-Fulton were D1 so we could add them in. Iron Sharpens Iron and come playoff time District 16 will be in real trouble and the teams that show up in Round 2 will not have it easy either. I can see 3 of our teams in round 3 if all goes well.

I actually got a ticket to this game looking forward to seeing Calhoun live...………...
Bellaire Episcopal (0-0) travels to Port Lavaca to open the season against Calhoun (2-1). Episcopal is the defending Southwest Preparatory Conference state champion. Calhoun knocked off El Campo last week and moved from No. 8 to No. 6 in the Class 4A, Division I state poll. Calhoun’s Steve Johnson has rushed for an area-leading 571 yards and six touchdowns, and Jarius Stewart has rushed for 350 yards and six touchdowns.

If something happened where both Cal & PLC ended up on the same side of the bracket, one is only going to the 3rd round and no further.

Game Day! Time to find out which team prepared better during the week. Teams don't win games on Friday night. They win games with how they prepare during the week. But they can definitely lose games on Friday night. Poor execution, turnovers and penalties can do that.
Two biggest things in my mind that can swing games are Attitude and Details. Must have a Positive Attitude. Must pay attention to the details.
