My immediate reaction is Bellaire was rusty, and it was obvious this was their first game of the year. They are a talented team.
I didn’t see three D1 offensive lineman.
Calhoun is better at defense this year, than years past.
Calhoun will run the ball when there are 10 men in the box, and still make yards. Yes 10!!
Calhoun threw some passes!! Good to see.

Bellaire threw a bunch of passes and I don't think they completed one.

Calhoun 34 Episcopal 14. Was Impressed with BE. They have a massive OL that took over on their 2nd scoring drive and were pushing the DL back 3-4 yards on every play. I was glad it was their first game of they had some more time to work this outcome could have been very different. And I did see 3 D1 OL. Plus a RB that should play in College. Tough, Fast, Hard runner that was extremely shifty. They have a very good team.
As For Calhoun, I was pleased overall. Still have things to cleanup, Still nowhere near as good as we can be. Areas of concern, pats- Missed another one tonight, Penalties, Tackling can be improved, Fumbles- dropped a couple tonight but didn't lose any.
Very happy with the win. On to Second Baptist next week in Houston. Know NOTHING about them so.... Here we go again.

They where bigger then Calhoun but a little rusty for their first game. I like what I am seeing at linebacker for Calhoun them two juniors LB our getting better every game. I swear I think Stewart is a lot faster this year if he gets a gap he is gone. Good win Sandcrabs keep it rolling.....

If they had 3 D1 lineman, they would have overloaded that side and ran all night long. I just didn’t see it. Do they have 2, i think so. But that line didn’t pass block well at all. The running back was talented, he was very shifty. That’s why he got the yards he did.

That's why 5 was always running to that side. But it's OK we can disagree.

I just didn’t see 3 D1 talent on that line. They should be opening holes bigger than the Golden Gate Bridge. Maybe it was 1st game jitters. But i didn’t see it.

I kinda agree with Purp ....for being a "D1" linemen ...yes at they did open holes for their RB but the crabs were in the backfield alot and I think even got 3 sacks ... I've seen better linemen in my eyes from Calallen, Borne champion, EE , Sharyland Pioneer, and Calhoun...Victoria east and west ... ect ect ....I guess it just goes to show that recruiters don't really come down south passed 59

They only want to go where they can see the most players in a shorter period of time. For teams that are in communities 100 miles or more from an area that has multiple schools they simply won't put forth the effort unless they have been tipped off that that particular school has a really good player or two. That's why some really good HS players never get a shot while others closer to metro areas get multiple offers and from bigger schools.

What I saw was # 77 6''4 310 guard for Bellaire dominate his man in front of him rivals has him as the number 2 guard in the nation and rate him as a 5 star recruit with every top college offering Calhoun did a lot of gap blitz that led to some sacks but also led to the running back running right by the blitz man on some plays he is a legit recruit... Luis Chavarria # 75 6''3 300 guard is a 3 star recruit going to Houston Cullen Montgomery Offensive tackle 6'5'' 280 pound is a 3 star recruit going to OU ….

Bellaire offsides on the kickoff that PLC fumbled was devastating to Bellaire. It caused a letdown and PLC scored. It was a closer game than shown by the score.

That's one of the reasons I said if this wasn't BE 1st game the result could have been different. The shovel pass that was eventually ruled incomplete was another. Those two plays and some others could have changed this game in a big way. 20 Points is not a blowout by any stretch. But it is a bigger margin than I expected. Would love to see these two teams play again next season and for many seasons. I think most years they will make each other better.

I went back and looked at the game again and realized I was wrong. 75 and 77 Both Tackles are the Ohio State and Oklahoma Commits'. the Center 78 Holds Multiple offers. Sorry.

Looking at Calhouns starting LB core. I know 40,42 will return next year and I think Both OLB are Juniors as well. Am I correct. If so we could have a very salty bunch of LB next year. Showing themselves well so far this year.

I agree, but that’s how you win games....take advantage of the opponent’s mistakes. In every sport, from tennis to billiards. Hell, even Curling. 😊
