Pretty doubtful this season will be played in full. My guess is that only district games will be played. If only the district champion made the playoffs would you support that idea? The number of playoff teams would be reduced from 64 to 16.

I vote yes only because it would be very unusual circumstances. So, if that turns out to be the best we can do, then do it. I remember the days when only the district champion earned a playoff birth. It created many very heart breaking endings to many seasons for many very good play off worthy teams.

Reduce games to have some sort of season.

If it's only gonna be district games then just cancel the entire season. Full season or no season. Only district games is stupid. Some teams will have 9 games some will have only 4 or 5. It's just too drastic of a difference.

I would agree with that one. If they shorten the season but still want to retain a playoff structure that sounds like the best way. I know what many are thinking, yeah of course the CP and Aledo guys don't mind, I completely get that.

I actually enjoy 4 teams from each district making the tournament. Plus, Timberview is ranked #7. They could catch Aledo on an off night and knock us out of the playoffs. They would ruin our playoff streak!

I would rather the season be cancelled if the season will be stripped down that much. It would set a precedent where less teams make the playoffs in the future. For the sake of more students enjoying the playoffs in the future, let’s not go down that path.

Having this playoff format is just like live streaming games, it's a one time deal. The UIL wants 4 from each district in the playoffs because of the financial reasons. Dont worry about never making the playoffs again. NB will still have a chance.

I would be good with sending two teams into the playoffs. There's many instances where a 2nd place team peaks and is the better team by seasons end.

The best team is sitting home. Are you good with that?

I agree with the two teams from each district as an alternative. I'd be interested in seeing the statistics, and to see if a 3rd or 4th place team has ever won State. I know a few have made runs. I think Henderson may have been 3rd and won State in maybe 2010, but that was in 3A. Not sure if a 5A or 6A squad has ever won it all. Also with possible game cancellations this year, there may be some 8-9 team districts where not everyone gets to play each other.

If Aledo missed out then at least we got the opportunity to earn a playoff spot on the field.

The best team is sitting home. Are you good with that? That’s why the 4 team format is best. It assures that the best number of quality teams can advance to the playoffs. While districts are still not equal, you should at least be able to snag a 4th playoff spot. I would rather see faster turnaround time between games than a loss of playoff spots.
