So how did the scrimmage go? Scrimmage went good. I was surprised how good Tidehaven was. They have two D-1 Players. They beat East Bernard in regular season last year and then lost by 7 to them in Playoffs. Tidehaven should have a Good Season. For the most part Rockport looked good. Several things to work on.

What size school is Tidehaven?
Man they looked small up front and were not very fast either. A bad combination

Like most 3A schools there is not the same talent at all positions. It will be interesting to watch and see how they do this year.

In this video I just watched they have 2 RBs any 5a would want? I just didn't see it. Overall they looked slow as heck on both sides of the ball.

If it is the one posted by Sinton Fan, it only had about 10 offensive plays, all Rockport and no offensive plays from Tidehaven and several were second team.

If it is the one posted by Sinton Fan, it only had about 10 offensive plays, all Rockport and no offensive plays from Tidehaven and several were second team. So neither of the two RBs were on the field then. That would explain it. But, honestly, Tidehaven's defense I saw in this video was small up front, not very quick, and not very good. I get that they are a smaller classification but in all honesty they didn't look good to me at all. Hell, maybe R-F is just that good this year. That is certainly possible and the Pirates just made them look that way.

Bitter-Sweet Win for the Rockport-Fulton Pirates last Night.
Bitter Part - Rockport loses #8 Tight End - Wide Receiver Kaden for the Season with a Fractured Ankle and Torn Tendon. Kaden was Rockport’s Favorite Target/Receiver in their Passing Game. Kaden was a great leader and teammate. Kaden is also a three year starter on Rockport’s Basketball Team. Prayers for a Successful Surgery!
Sweet Part - Rockport Secures Second Seed in District with an impressive 42 to 14 Win over Ingleside. Freshman QB Ace Seibert was very efficient completing 6 of 8 passes for 142 yards and 5 TD’s. One of the TD passes was to Kaden Harder. Rockport wins by forfeit next week over Robstown. It appears Rockport will be playing Carrizo Springs in the First Round of Playoffs.

Rockport and Sinton May become a major competitor in this area and compete with Cal among others but another team raising their hand is Ingleside. They have short changed their team on money spent on sports and that was the reason Coach Hesseltine left and is now at Beeville and Refugio has benefited with his son at QB. Ingleside Tax base has increased and they may make some improvements. The oil loading facilities at Homeport has increased their tax base. I see PLC pushed back East in the next realignment. Rockport tax base has increased over the last ten years and George Strat pays pretty good on his home at Fulton. Coach Hesseltine had a home in Refugio district when he was coaching at Skidmore. FYI, Wing-T is not obsolete and will never be obsolete and still the best offense a team can run if it fits your athletes. If you don’t have a good ball handler who can also pass and a wingback and some speed for the jet sweep and 4 backs , you need to find another offense to fit your athletes.

Last i checked look like the New School is being build in Sinton as it passed. Most likely 2021 is last year in 4a D2.

Good luck in the playoffs, your grandson has filled in nicely this season at qb and only going to get better each time he steps on the field for a game. 2nd round in playoffs will be some great matchups for our district.
