Denton Ryan has to be the favorite. Highland Park and Frisco Lone Star have the pedigree. Longview has been strong in 6A Div II, with a Championship in 2018 before dropping back down to 5A. If there is a chink in DR armor, is they have not faced this many talented teams in their old Region I playoffs. I am a huge homer for Lufkin, however they have not proved worthy the past 2 years after they came into both seasons ranked high by DCTF. They will be very talented again, however in the end, it will not be the talent that will cost them when it counts the most. Only Lufkin fans can understand that meaning. 5A DI Region II is loaded. It will be interesting to see how the UIL aligns the season. Some teams may not play.
COVID could still play a big part in who ends up as a champion or if we finish the season. My personal opinion is we will be just fine as we move closer to the start of the season.

TWolvesFan: Now is the time we get to see where the proverbial rubber hits road in both 5a DI & DII. We will all find out starting this week; who is for real, who will surprise, and who will disappoint! Gotta LOVE HS Football!

ils1: Could've been worse. But called off the dogs in the middle of the 3rd. Good Luck tonight CP and Manor (they have the talent but need to put it together).

arges: Austin ISD has a history wanting to keep their schools together. With the LBJ/LASA split, I suspect they may opt Eastside Memorial up regardless of them not being able to score.
