If we’re going to play the “but who have you played game” let’s also look at LH and Pioneers schedule. Like I mentioned earlier, Harker Heights put up 36 vs Temple who is no slouch and favored to win that district. The BC defense gave up 13 of the 20 they scored. I agree the top 3 at this point would seem to be BC, LH, and Pioneer. There’s only one way to know who is better and that’ll happen in a little over a month. My question was for the LH poster really but since my post caught your eye as well I'll go ahead an ask you this. You've stated on this thread that your offense at BC is getting better each week. How do you come up with this when the fact is you haven't broken the 30 mark scoring since your second game this year? I know Tivy has a very good defense especially up front because I've watched them play. But 14 against HH and only 27 against MV? VM got 38 on MV and Alamo Heights got 30 on them. So, how do you make the statement that your offense is getting better when the output on the scoreboard doesn't show that? Wind was a huge factor in our MV game, and we shot ourselves in the foot several times (dumb holds, false starts etc). BC scored 14 points each quarter they had the wind. MV scored 7 with the wind on the first drive (busted coverage). After that, MV offense couldn't do much. BC is still learning the new offense, new OC, injuries have slowed the development. They are also calling a different style offense this year, attempting to control the clock more than then past. Still have work to do, but improving in different ways each week. Only time will tell. Alamo Heights is a much better team than last year, in fact they look pretty good. Winner of this BC/AH game probably finish 1/2 in district.

Have penalties been a big issue offensively? If so, I can see that getting fixed in short order as BC seems to have good discipline and coaching that corrects those things in short order. So is BC going up under center any this year running the ball or all still out shotgun? Any tight sets and lining up with the O-linemen's hand in the dirt?

Yes, penalties have been a huge issue offensively. Some very sloppy play at times, and about killed us vs. MV. Some really really dumb holds, false starts, dropped balls. Same vs. HH, although they ahve some really really big guys, I mean HUGE. And they have some skilled players (#6, soph RB will play D1 I would think).
O is still shotgun, but putting in double TEs on several formations. Seems that we can now actually get 1-2 yards when needed with this offense vs. past years. Of course, there are trade offs to that. My kid plays defense so I don't get much info on the offense other than what I observe or ask.
I am not sure how much RPO vs. putting hand in dirt.

" what killed Pioneer were big time drops by the WRs IMO." Those drops keep getting brought up as though they cost them the game. They didn't, in fact none of them mattered much as they ended up scoring on each of those drives. Or, the drop was offset by a similar mistake (turnover) by BC to give them the ball back. Neither LH or Pioneer have played anyone with much of a pulse. BC has had much better competition. Yes, the offense is a work in progress, no doubt. I wonder why Brenham isn't even being discussed? I haven't watched any of their film, but they seem to be playing decent after a slow start. Pioneer shot themselves in the foot in the first half! Should have never been down that much, gave up a TD on 4th and 18 on blown coverage and the drops ofc affected the outcome of the game! Many people in SA at the game thought we were the better team and should have won.. But we didnt, its the way the ball bounced! That once in a lifetime type interception saved yall, we had all the momentum.. You should have seen your sideline when we were driving to score at the end haha, yall were in shock and looked defeated i see it on the film! But anyways didnt get it done, great play by that safety

I think the things you are talking about will get fixed. BC shows to be a well coached team and I'm betting the OC and HC will get those dumb penalties taken care of soon. Twin TEs is certainly good for running the ball but I'm not a fan of O-linemen in 2 point stance to do it. I just think you can get a much better push coming out a 3-point stance than a 2-point and get into the 2nd level much better. I really wonder why more OCs and O-line coaches do not teach it and run it that way any more. It's not like you can pass protect out a 3-point stance!

Yep, I have heard that complaint from OL on the RPO. Its tough on the OL not knowing, can I just mash this guy in front of me or what.

Exactly man As an old O/D Lineman I just don't understand the blocking schemes at all today. I used to ask my boy why in the hell didn't you pancake the LBr scraping down the LOS and he would look at me like....STHU old man. But, he'd always say because that is not my job on that play and not what they want me to do. To me an O-lineman is all about firing off the ball and driving that man in front of you into the ground or 5-6 yards back up into his LBrs! lol

Ready to say LH is my top pick going forward. I'd take Pioneer but they just havent played enough games to really improve. BC losing to AH wasnt expected so they drop a little in my R4 rankings.

That was the most ridiculous game I have seen. We beat them up and down the field, but 2 pick 6, 99yard td by them, another fumble on short field and another int. We had 400 yards offense to 188 AH. AH offense only scored 9 pts, 3 in short field (blocked pat)

Next to Katy Thompkins beating Katy... This is the biggest Upset of the week. I was Shocked when I saw this score.

No argument there, we are capable but either your mistakes are corrected or you keep making excuses for them.

What happened!! I watched the whole game bc we were off again and it looked like BC was not ready to play, especially on offense I wont mention names but BC QB has a lot of work to do, he does not look good at all or comfortable back there.. he is accurate from short throws but thats it, throwing the football, hard and strong armed but wildly inaccurate from intermediate and deep throws, again 25 is beast and WRs 1,2,15 are good players but QB cant get them the ball, and offense line doesnt help running for his life on pass blocking alot last night just my opinion.. Looks like BC is bumping to the top of the bracket and is set to clash with liberty hill now
