Agreed. So glad Calallen allowed fans at our scrimmage. I asked why so few people were being allowed to attend games. I mentioned others schools were allowing fans. I was told it was for social distancing but I didn't get the feeling the athletic department fully agreed with the policy. They are working on getting a live stream set up for home games. So Gpf55, GP is allowing no fans or just a limited amount? I was told by a person with some inside info from Steele that they were allowing each student either 4 or 6 tickets for family members. Hell, we had 8 season seats back in the day and it wasn't nearly enough for most games as we had different family members each week that wanted to come to home games and see them play. Yes, we have a rather large family. lmao

I believe there is talent in GP. The talent has not been surrounded by decent help from the other grades. It’s a team effort. One athlete cannot win by themselves. GP needs one winning season and it will get going. So I’m not going to bang on the coach or the kids. IMO, you have to have a strong senior/junior class with 4 or 5 sophomores contributing in about 30 to 40 plays. Add a talented freshman or two and you got it going on. Wrong. Anybody with talent has moved away or went to another sport. Big Alumni names take their kids to other schools. Austin Ochoa went back to Refugio, Ty Buchanan is at Calallen, so many others left also. Its just sad. The kids here are great and full hearted but it starts at the top and trickles down

Yes some talented kids left. Good riddance. If they don't want to be here so be it. Take the kids that are still here and let's support them and get behind this team. Look forward not backward GP fans.

I lost track of the one that went to San Antonio and 5 kids from GP went to Sinton and I think 3 from one family . The mystery to me is Coach Anastacio made Coach Ouelette a assistant HC And DC and the defense has been a disaster. He seems to have never heard of the corner blitz. When Coach Rick Rhoades came to GP I heard he was a builder. Johnnys and I differ on opinion of Coach David McKinney but he was negative coaching. I suspect there is negative coaching going on at GP.

GP practice is 6;00 AM and they do have some kids out for football and GP will make a run and thinking positive about making the playoffs. Clem is correct and a lot of homes do not have a father in the home and a lot of moms hate football.

Clem is correct and a lot of homes do not have a father in the home and a lot of moms hate football. I don't mean just those kid's without a dad at home. I mean in general now parents are soft on their kids and at the first sign of any distress on their kid whether it be a teacher, a coach, or even another kid...…..all hell breaks lose. Hell, when my wife has a child that misbehaves in class and calls the parent(s) about the issues, 85-90% of the time the response back to her from that parent is not "don't worry ma'am, I'll take care of it". It is usually something like "not my johnny, it must be another kid causing him/her to act out". This is a problem in general these days and why our society is so soft! And before anyone jumps down my throat about my statements above, I'm not saying kids need to be beaten in any way. I'm simply saying parents do not 'parent' anymore, they coddle! smdh

Clem I watch a lot of 6 to 8 year old kids in soccer with my great grand and a kid gets knocked down and the whistle blows he will lay there and mom runs out on the field to coddle him and kiss his booboo. I was shocked last Saturday at my great grand playing at Katy and a kid got knocked down and they kept on playing and ignored him and he got up and went on playing. When I was a kid , I would skin a knee or elbow and my dad told me it would make me grow.
I see a lot of College and even pro players lay on the ground after a play and here they come with first aid and move his leg or arm and then he goes off the field under his own power.

Hopefully GP finds a way to the W column and gets to the playoffs.

When you were a kid, did you have to walk 3 miles to school in the snow and come home and milk the cows?

picodejello you raise a story and my kids cringe when I tell it. The streets would Ice over when it snowed in Wichita Falls and it was a long distance to junior High and cars back then did not have the defrosters you have today and the back window was covered with ice and snow. When a car came by, we would duck down and grab the back bumper and let it pull us along sliding behind the car and when it turned the wrong direction we wanted to go, we would turn loose and watch for another car going our direction. My brother milked the cow before we went to school but I do know how to milk a cow. I pulled cotton when I was in the 6th grade. My mother picked cotton and that is how she met my dad. The cotton gins improved their technology when I came along and you just pulled boll and all. You dumped your sack in the wagon and tromped it down. My son in law has one of those 3/4 million dollar machines that drops it out the back like a easter egg in a round module.
