GPISD has a Bond vote on hold because of Covid19 will be interesting to see if Dr. Paul Clore can pull it off. His planned retirement is on hold so he can keep his teachers in line who have families as any of the teachers are GP retreads. GPISD is the largest employer in Portland. There are some athletic crumbs in it to gain the pro athletic voters. It worked in the last Bond election. GPISD is fortunate that Starr testing has been canceled. I found one site indicating GPISD was downgraded to a C rating. We are seeing the results of education in this country on TV. Will the voters throw more money at a failing education system? Will throwing more money at a athletic program that is in the toilet help. GP has lost the will to win.

gpfannie55 How many teams from GP made the playoff this past year? SenileCoyote 37, You are correct. We won't win another game in any sport for years to come. Our baseball team will probably go 0-28 since, as you say, GP has forgotten how to win.

I see both sides of the story at GP. All schools have to achieve first a good effective education of our youth. The other area of the education of our youth is the extracurricular programs. Those programs range from Band, choir, sports and many other activities that are afforded our youth to enhance our youths abilities. I see and hear both sides who want these thing for our youth but differ on how to be successful in achieving those goals. For any group to be successful in getting the attention that is needed to To force the administration to invest the money and time to guarantee that sports is equally important to our youth as any program at GP. What needs to happen is we need to form a group that makes the administrators at GP answers their Questions and to make sure those administrators know exactly what the people at GP want and expect. Recently word got out that Dr Clore was planning to retire from GP. Almost from day one I have heard that GP doesn’t even plan on having a talent search to hire a replacement fo Dr Clore’s replacement. They fully intend to replace the superintendent with a current asst superintendent. To me that only means that they want to rubber stamp the next Supt and continue the same policies that so far has seen GP schools and athletic programs get downgrade to a C ranking which is totally unacceptable.

Gpfannie55 does not have a clue about the system at GP of teachers, coaches in their comfort zone. The slackers have friends in the majority. Calcatgirls hands are tied but if I know a teacher at Calallen that knows what is going on at GP. Calcatgirl knows it also. Teachers in Sinton are aware of problems at GP and they will not apply for a job at GP. I suspect there is lack of a Suptd that wants to come in to GP and rock the boat are disturb the teachers comfort zone. I have a hard time understanding how GP can rig the system where the best student go to East Cliff and the students that are slower learners go to the other schools . I thought you had to go to the school where you live. Don’t mess with the clique at GP or you will be hunting for a job elsewhere example Coach Matt Anastacio and Coach Jack Rhoades.

gpfannie55 you hit the nail on the head. Nobody at GP gives a dam. The ones like me that care are in a minority. Johnnys pretty well knows how saturated I am with school teachers and offspring with in-law school teachers and none of them attend school sports as probably 99% of the teachers at GP does not attend sports. We lost a fan recently when Gary Merrill past away. gpfannie55 no one could have said it better. The old heads are gone except me. The vacant seats in the stadium are on the increase. The bright spot should be that all the coaching staff that has been there for 30 years will be retiring especially Coach Wilson but they are being replaced by GP retreads who could not win a game against Cal or PLC. I failed with the book deal to stock their library and they just chewed the covers off and did not read them . I have a plan.

I heard the Chinese pipe plant in Gregory was shut down and I had not seen pipe being hauled out #188. We circled by there and no cars in parking lot and no activity.

GAME PLAN TO WINNING FOOTBALL An Edition for Coaches Ring- for $100 on Amazon and I have seen it on there new for $900 and his autobiography signed for $23 to $99. I am pretty sure I made a copy of the playbook for Coach Jay Seibert. Coach Morriss Southall was the offensive genius at Brownwwood. Coach Gordon Wood was a defensive coach. GP has had 1 or 2 RB the last 10 years and you need at lest 3 to go with a good ball handler QB. I would run the spread from the Wing-T formation. What happens when you go to the shotgun? Here comes the pass rush. I have 175 pages of Coach Gordon Woods Plays. The last 10 years there have been some very good backs. Ryan Starcher, Devin Bisby, Steven Starcher, Eric White, Blaine Monroe, Anthony Huerta, Randall Harris, and Kyle Zipprian. All of who could have stared for any team in the district.

Don't leave out Joe Sauceda. I have seen GP use 6 different backs in one game and have not seen that in awhile.

Yup No doubt GP has had some very good ones these past 10 years or so! S Starcher and Bisby could have started at damn near any HS in the region.
