I knew there was a TX State competition as well as a National HS Competition... but I didn't know it was a UIL sanctioned activity. Power Lifting is still a Texas HS competition but it is not a UIL sanctioned competition. Cedar Park Cheerleaders won State this passed weekend... They have now won it Back-to-Back!
Go TWolves!!

Go TWolves!! This will push Cedar Park to 2nd in the Lone Star Cup points as Highland Park who is currently in 1st place or Dripping Springs 2nd place or Frisco Wakeland 3rd place all didn't even make the top 20 squads... which all get 1 point. CP will get 6 points as the Champion for a total of 41 points which is right behind HP with 43 points. GO TWolves!!

I have zero problems with schools having Mariachi, what doesn't make sense is making it part of Lone Star cup. I'm just guessing, but probably less than 20% of the schools in Texas have a Mariachi program.

True, but you could argue the same for the other catorgies such as film, Congress, wrestling, swimming and robotics.

Also, all the others are found at most colleges.
