I got a chance to watch Yoakum play Van Vleck and will say they are a very, very good football team. Goliad must be as well the way that they've been beating people. This should be a hell of a ball game for the right to play in the semis.

The week before I saw Van Vleck. #13 is about as fast a football player as I have ever seen. That youngster can move.

Bo Robinson is a damned smart coach who brings up the teams level of play gradually throughout the season. My nieces son is one of the defensive ends #8. They got 3 already signed D1 and two more who haven't signed yet but will sign after the season. Yoakum has been using a two QB system with Hagan & Garvin. Very proud of these boys and most likely the toughest opponent in the playoffs will be Goliad. Last time I looked Yoakum was ranked #2 and Goliad #4 in 3AD1.

Yes he is, Josh Moore broke free on a 75 yd TD run and he said he could"feel" him behind him. Josh has chose Nebraska but Alabama recruiter flew into Yoakum on the chopper right before Yoakum played Edna. We will see in a few weeks who he actually signs with. Jordan Moore has already signed with A&M. Silas Robinson 6-5, 310 has signed with SMU.

These two teams know each other well since Yoakum knocked Goliad out of the playoffs in the Reg 4 finals game last year. The Goliad HC is the former OC at Yoakum so the play similar offenses. Goliad wanting payback from last year is a understatement. This will be a total slobberknocker with two solid ,well coached teams.

Amusing that Dave Campbell predictions from all 5 who are predictioning have Yoakum winning Reg 4. But 4 out of 5 are predicting a team who's already been kicked out of the playoffs to win state? Only Matt Stepp is predicting Yoakum to win state this year. Wall, Malakoff , Halletsville and last years champion Mineola are already out of the playoffs. Brock and Teague are two quality teams that I have been watching lately. Good luck to all the teams!

Chad Morris taking the Arkansas HC job might effect whether Silas Robinson now goes to SMU. Bo Robinson the HC at Yoakum knows Chad since his days as the HC at Lake Travis so not sure if Silas would accept an offer from Arkansas. He's got many D-1 offers in Texas, and now the Jimbo is in College Station he might consider that offer.

I’m definitely NOT an Arkansas fan, but Chad Morris just might change all that. He was able to get some good talent with his name but overall I guess SMU as a mid-major couldn’t draw the talent he really needed. Too bad the Big 12 didn’t pick up both Houston and SMU. Anyway, it will be interesting to see just how many LT/Texas kids will consider heading to Arkansas because of that LT/TX connection!

I don't disagree with any of what you state here or anything about him as a coach because he's a good one for sure with big TX connections. That still don't change the fact thought that Ark = armpit of the SEC Just not a great place IMO.
But, I don't see him staying there more than 3-4 years anyway until a bigger/better job comes along.

Not sure why Chad didn't try harder for the Tennessee job. But yes I see the razorback job as a springboard to a premium position in a few years.

On to the semis, to face Rockdale at Cy Fair stadium in Cypress. Yoakum had a convincing win over Goliad 40-7 last night at DKR in Austin.

Kind of knew this would happen since the two coaches are good friends, now Silas Robinson has committed to Arkansas to play for their new HC.

Wow Didn’t see this one coming at all with all the talent Yoakum had this year. I figured they would have made the title game.
