Flour Bluff beat Mission Vets twice to put them out of the PO last year. Beat Moody four times last year the second two to put them out of the PO for at least the second year in a row. Maybe eventually they will get some notice.

It didn't really bother me just being a little tongue in cheek. Those named from around here have long standing reputations of being good teams and pre season stuff is mostly name recognition so it is expected. No no Montoya but as good as he is he wasn't the first or last good one. Looking forward to the season starting. First scrimmage vs Ray 2/6/17. nmjcthunderbirds.com/sports/bsb/2016-17/roster

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict one of the Corpus Christi's traditional power programs will unexpectedly miss the playoffs this year.

VM hasn't proven squat, you guys are just overhyping them based on assumptions because they got the old Carroll coach.

King south zone 7. Calallen north zone 13. Moody south zone 18. Carroll south zone Predicting V.M. to be good with Yeager coaching is not really going out on a limb. That all makes a pretty strong statement for the 30 5A South to be very strong.

You know as well as I do that those preseason polls are horsecrap based on respect and reputation more than anything else. I doubt that poll took into consideration that King and Carroll lost a ton of enrollment to VM. And saying VM will be good because of Yaeger is horsecrap also. Carroll had good baseball before him not just because of him. How'd it work out for Yaeger when he left Carroll?

30-5A representing 5 of the top 20 teams is pretty impressive. At least one of them will not make the playoffs.

Baseball is more predictable than football especially in an area like this where most of the players don't just play on school teams. They play on the pay to play leagues almost year around and people know what school teams they will play for. King has some very good pitching for instance and the baseball savy people know that for instance. Grapevine where Yeager went from Carroll was full of entitled spoiled brats that didn't want to work for it. He hated it there.

"entitled spoiled brats" just about describes all of today's youth not just Grapevine. Baseball is more predictable than football? Are you serious? I don't think so. Baseball is a sport where on any given night a horrible team can beat a great team. That doesn't happen in football. Miller isn't gonna beat Calallen in football but conceivably on any given night could maybe pull it off in baseball. Try again.

Already told you how baseball talent is known preseason. No a horrible team won't beat a great team. Name some times that has happened lately in this district. Upsets sometimes rarely but horrible teams beating great teams, no. District teams usually play each other home and away anyway. Back to the point. More south zone teams will go through to the real playoffs than north zone. That is just a fact.

To Yaegar's credit whether he had anything to do with it or not, Grapevine did win the State Title last year. True he wasn't the coach, but he could of put down the infrastructure needed to win it last year kind of like Jimmy Johnson did when that nutcase Barry Switzer won the last Super Bowl for the Cowboys.
