Hello I want to try out next year for varsity. I have a fair body, I'm 5'8 and 135 lbs. Next year will be my last year in high school and decided to partake in other school activities. But have always liked playing basketball. I have not starting training, but have talked to the coach and they offer summer sessions/can come in some mornings before the tryouts coming next year. I'm open to lifting, but have never done it. Also in summer I may not have time. I did some research and found this workout program but skeptical: gg.gg/kettlebell2017 . A kettle bell would come in handy if I can't condition over summer or end up being busy. Could use anywhere. May end up buying temp gym membership if we go out of town in other location. Any tips appreciated.

Yes, you need to lift. The kettle bells are ok and at least you are getting a workout. Front Squats would help more. Also jumping rope. There are some pretty good workouts out there for free. Check youtube.
