Congrats Clem!! We have room for your second and third teamers down here so don't forget about us! We gotta keep dem boys for now. They are re-drawing the SC / Steele borders very soon and who knows what kids end up where! For now, we've got some tremendous young talent. If the majority stay together and go to one or the other school, they will be very good when they are varsity.

Congratulations. Tripod, video camera, cell phone camera, don’t worry about the rain gear, and you might invest in a really good stadium seat. Keep us posted. I have a good tripod and dig camera.....you know the important things when you guide whitetail hunts in S TX! LOL But, I didn't take any cameras to the game this past week. I guess maybe I will take it to one and get some video of them. The coach told me the next three weeks should be some very good games against NB and SV middle schools so I'm looking forward to that.

ARE NB AND SV going to be very good this year? Jury is still out. SV is not looking as strong as they were in 2010. NB seems to be just a half notch less than 2010...so far.

ARE NB AND SV going to be very good this year? Well, I thought SV would be better, much better but to date it has not happened. They struggled with SA Mac last week in a 20-19 win and gave up close to 400 yards of offense! SV has an absolute bruiser of a RB in Lawrence Mattison. He is around 240 pounds with very good speed and is only a JR. They also have a very good passing attack. If they get their defense going like they usually do, they could be very, very good by playoff time. They are starting like 8 Jrs on defense! NB is struggling bigtime right now. There offense is really struggling bad as their starting QB is out right now hurt and so are a couple of key receivers. Their D which is usually tougher then nails gave up about 400 yards or more to Macarthur last week and 28 points while their offense only generated 2 FGs. NB got two punt returns for TDs for their other 14 points. Right now, they don't look too good, I'd say by the end of the year though they'll be very tough again.

We played NB's best middle school last night in Cibolo. Final was 30-0 for the good guys. My kid got his first start and was excited. He did well and was on the O-line on all four TD drives. NB had a BIG, fast RB. A couple of dads and me spoke to him after the game. Kid is 5'10" and 170 with really good wheels. Nice kid as well. Our D is very, VERY good and kept him to about 40-50 yds total last night. Steele's head coach Mike Jinks, both the OC & DC, and two other coaches spent the afternoon watching our 7th grade team instead of the freshman teams playing at Steele. I think they were impressed with what they saw!

Is Thursday the regular night for MS football? Do the kids even notice the BIG COACH is there, or is it total focus on the game? Glad your kid is doing good, keep us posted.

Is Thursday the regular night for MS football? Do the kids even notice the BIG COACH is there, or is it total focus on the game? Glad your kid is doing good, keep us posted. Most of our games are on Thursdays except for our first one because STeele played on TV on that Thursday night. Now, they've moved STeele/Judson to Thursday, Oct 20 to televise on FSN so I'd imagine that one will be moved to another day if SV's Middle School agrees to it. As far as the kids noticing, most didn't probably because the staff stood kind of in the back about 15 yds off the field. My son noticed simply because I was standing by them talking to a couple that are long time friends of mine. He asked what they said and I told him they all said they sucked and needed to get nastier on the field!

If that does get them to play nastier on the field, next week try: Are you going 100% every play? When my Dad asked me that, I didn't exactly appreciate his comment, but the next week - I found a little EXTRA just to show him !

We played our postoned game from Thursday this morning in NB. Our kids played Church Hill MS which is a feeder into NBC HS. We were a bit sloppy and had numerous center/qb exchange fumbles but still managed to eek out a 48-0 win. We are 3-0 and have not been scored on yet this year. Play of the year...................................... We had a 4th & 12 at our own 6. We went to punt the ball and it went off of one of their players. Our RB caught it in mid-air and took it 94 yds to the house for a TD!

So here is what you do: The next “heartbreak play,” watch the fans from the other team. It’s rude to laugh at them, so don’t do that, but check out the looks on their faces, and how they drop their shoulders. If you’re lucky, and have your binoculars handy, you might just catch “are you f#%^&*ng kidding me,” from the large x-football player with the exploding head. You will know which one to watch, he’s the one you can hear him screaming at his team HIT SOMEBODY, from your side of the field.

Update: Game 4 in the books, Dobie 44 SV 0 They have now won their games a total of 168 - 0. Oh, and our starting QB was sidelined today with an ankle injury! 2nd QB threw about 6 or 7 passes completing 4 for about 60 yds. He also has a GUN for an arm and can easily throw it 40-45 yds. Amazing amount of talent within this group of kids.
