Hamlin texas is the pied pipers six man or 1A Hutto Hippos
Sadly I dont think any new school will ever have unique mascot. To much political correctness out there.
Ive not heard anything note worthy in the carolinas.

They are actually a pretty good team and went to the Region III Final and lost to Crosby in 2014.

Could have had Charger style helmets... that'd be cool! San Diego twisted that name around. It's supposed to be Chargers like a horse. Correct on the "Chargers" stood for a "Charging Horse" in the original San Diego Chargers shield logo. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using proboards

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using proboards Sorry for correcting you all but being a born and bred Angelino I have to set the record straight. The Chargers, born in LA, came from the an the inspiration from the Los Angeles Dodgers "Charge" shout. At Dodgers games there used to be a bugle player who would sound off "Charge", now it is done over the speakers. The GM came up with the name "Chargers" after hearing it. You are correct though it is not supposed to be a reference to electricity or a lightning bolt.

Unless that horse in their logo has a trumpet hidden somewhere on him.....he's the Charger.

You are correct though it is not supposed to be a reference to electricity or a lightning bolt. You are partially correct. Yes, the name "Chargers" for the new AFL team in Los Angeles did come from the LA Dodgers shouting, "Charge!" and then the bugle call. The horse was added to the logo for the word "Chargers" along with the lightning bolt. From the Pro Football Hall of Fame: SAN DIEGO CHARGERS – Barron Hilton agreed after his general manager, Frank Ready picked the Chargers name when he purchased an AFL franchise for Los Angeles. The Chargers played in Los Angeles in 1960 and moved to San Diego in 1961. “I liked it because they were yelling ‘charge’ and sounding the bugle at Dodgers Stadium and at USC games.” Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using proboards

While not all that crazy, Floresville is one of the few schools with separate mascots for boys and girls teams. Boys are Tigers and girls are Jaguars.

You are putting the horse before the name so to speak. The horse referring to Charger was after the name of the team was given. It was not given to imply a horse charging.
