I heard That the new GP baseball coach has been named, but I haven't heard anything else? Anybody have any info? His name is Lance Standley and hes an older coach who has coached a longview, beeville, lampasas and a couple other schools. All I have heard is hes a strict disciplinarian and his teams work there butts off to stay in good shape.

I heard That the new GP baseball coach has been named, but I haven't heard anything else? Anybody have any info? I looked on his FB posts and he has 3 daughters and hes an avid hunter/fishermen. His record is impressive in the win column. He will most likely be part of the football program also as an asst coach. Hes accumulated 279 wins in 17 seasons as a HC.

I should of been a lil more accurate in my estimate, he has coached for 17 yrs as HC and asst. hes been a HC for 10 yrs.

I heard that GP had a defector??
I heard GP lost one of their big pitching prospects to Refugio the other day.
Any truth to this?

We too at TM will be in a rebuilding year. A large part of our varsity starters will be sophomores and freshmen.

You will not find a better coach anywhere. His teams will be disciplined, fundamentally sound, and will play just like he coaches - extremely hard!

Sinton scrimmage opener is against GP.
Should be a experience Sinton team with all their pitching back from last season. Might be the year Sinton returns to state tournament if the lineup from top to bottom is improved from past couple of seasons.

Bishop had a good size crowd for being 1st scrimmage. Well represented last night.
From innings I saw GP played well defensively made the routine plays every time.
