Yep. Looking forward to it. FB has never won a single game against Cal, something they are very fond of reminding us. Maybe tonight. It has been a long time - but FB did win a game in 1992 - since then Calallen has won every game - something like 50 or 51 straight now. Prior to that last win by FB - series record was tied 21-21.

FB 5 Victoria West 1. FB and Moody trail Calallen in 30 5A with Cal now at 10-0, FB and Moody at 8-2. FB plays Miller next at FB Friday at 7.

Flour Bluff 8 Gregory-Portland 2. FB runs their district record to 10-2. Next scheduled game at Cabaniss Tuesday at 8 pm vs Veterans Memorial.

TM falls to Victoria West 8/4.
TM is now starting 5 freshmen, 2 sophomores, 1 junior, 1 senior at pitcher and 1 at DH. That's a "baptism of fire" for our TM freshmen in the current district.

A VM fan who would know told me VM is pretty much in the same boat. Said some players who weren't starters somewhere else, thought they should be so came to VM are now not starting there. Bottom line, young starters but very optimistic for the future with Yeager coaching.

Calallen managed to remain perfect in district so far with an 11-9 win over GP today. Calallen was helped offensively by 4 dingers. One by Rabe, one by Gonzales, and 2 by soph Broughton including a timely grand slam. Congrats, Cats and keep it up.

FB lost to VE 1-2 Friday. Game ended on a bang/bang out at first call as the would be tying run crossed the plate in the bottom of the 7th. Second one run game between these two teams as VE won the first 1-0.

I was following the game on Game Changer and it showed Caden Floyd hitting the game winning grand slam. The VE folks at the FB game were talking it up that GP was leading so I followed it too to see GP blow s 9-4 lead.
