Gotta give it up to the bluff. didn't try anything fancy today. They played the same way they've been playing all year. Good hitting, solid defense. Off game for moody. Should be a good one next time

Flour Bluff 10 run ruled Moody in 6 innings:
By Len Hayward of the Caller-Times
Flour Bluff displayed the kind of pitching, defense and discipline at the plate Saturday that has them in the thick of the District 30-5A playoff race.
And the Hornets combined all that against one of the district's best teams with a 10-0 six-inning, run-rule victory against Moody at Cabaniss Baseball Field. The Hornets slapped 11 hits but only one went for extra bases and they took advantage of nine walks to put pressure on three Trojan pitchers on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Anthony Montoya kept the Moody bats quiet, giving up four hits, striking out six and walking two. Plus, the Trojans did not have a base runner reach third base during the game in the first time they have been run-ruled in a district contest in at least five seasons.
"Last year they actually run-ruled us, and every team, they have their days and today was our day," said Montoya, who was also 2 for 4 at the plate with an RBI and the game's only double. "Momentum has a lot to do with it. We just stay positive, and when we play ball like we know how, I don't think any one can stop us."
The Hornets (10-5, 7-2 30-5A) are part of a logjam in second place in the 30-5A standings as they handed Moody (12-3, 7-2) its second district loss, and Victoria East also improved to 7-2 with a win against Alice on Saturday.
All three teams were two games behind first-place Calallen, a 9-1 winner against Tuloso-Midway on Saturday, as the first half of the marathon 18-game district schedule hit the halfway point.
"You sit there and you kind of plan it out from day one what would be nice to have in the first round, second round and so on," Flour Bluff coach Ron Weikum said. "Right now it's 0-0 and we got to get ready to play the second half. Teams are basically in the fight for their (playoff) lives. Nobody is going to lay down right now."
Saturday afternoon, the Hornets kept the Trojans at arm's length with two runs in the first inning that featured a precursor of later innings for both teams. Moody starter Alec Martinez issued two walks, including one with the bases loaded.
The Hornets added single runs in the third and fifth innings. In the sixth, the flood gates opened.
Flour Bluff sent 12 hitters to the plate as two different Moody pitchers issued three walks. Ethan Pompa, Montoya and Matt Chen had RBI singles, and Ethan Cerna and Jose Juarez each drew a bases loaded walks.
"There was a tight strike zone and we really had to make the pitcher throw to us and put the pressure on them," Montoya said.
