With Moody beating CC King... and Carroll beating Flour Bluff...
Carroll Tigers force a likely tiebreaker game with CC King Mustangs Tuesday night at Cabaniss for the #2 seed.

It will probably be....
1) Moody ( they will have a good run, maybe regional champs) 2) Calallen ( maybe a short playoff run) 3) King over Alice, but Alice will give them fits (King will have a good playoff run) 4) Carroll by a coin flip over Ray ( either could have respectable run depending on which team shows up)

Moody on paper should win district, maybe in a seeep. What do you consider a short run for Calallen? I think they should handle the first round.

If Cal doesn't get that bats going in a big way meaning the team is hitting from top to bottom, then we will be one and done. If the same hitters keep on carrying the team as they have for most of the season, it for sure will be one and done. Last year Cal narrowly escaped (beat Somerset 1-0 and Valley View 2-0) in the first two games against third and forth place teams and on balance Cal had a better team than this one. This year we are likely to face second and third place teams from those same districts and a few of them are playing some respectable baseball this season.

I will take your judgement on this one as I have not seen them play this year, just following along. From what I see you are right on point. I keep hoping they will hit their stride at the right time.

The zone split wasn't that bad after all as expected when the 11 team district was first announced. With games on Tuesday and Friday the pitch count didn't really effect most teams in district play. Now with a three game series in the interzone playoffs it is fixing to come into play for some teams I suspect.

I want to write it off as being a young club, but we've won big with young teams before.

So yeah, actually I think the split zone thing was kind of a bad thing. correction: my bad I forgot the top 2 teams make it automatically...

My team lost, but tonight's game was more of a reality check to where both teams are really at. Last nights game was a nice to have for us and can give us a boost in the playoffs. I've been in this game too long, last night when I heard my fellow cat fans being overconfident after game 1, I tried to give the warning so that there wouldn't be such a let down after game 2 and inevitably game 3. But then what do I know... I have at least 5 steak diners coming my way.
