This may be a touchy subject with some but I wanted to hear some input in how you might think something could help all levels of school become safer.
I for one believe in something many schools are already doing with identification cards that all students must wear this way you can tell if they belong where they are or not. Many ID cards are free but even if they aren't they can't be too expensive to make.
I was in a situation just today where a girl in my class was approached by a man that did not go to our college that just walked up and aggressively stole her money. No one could stop him because he took off and our Campus Police did not have the time to pursue since it was already too late. With everything happening in this country with violence and many other instances of criminal acts, I believe this is one way that it can help. Remember nothing can completely prevent it however every little bit does help.

Fence in all entry's and exits and put security in place. Have stickers on cars or have security checking ID's. That way if there is a incident on campus there can be a quick lockdown until everything checks out. Not foolproof I know but it would be a start.

Concealed carry on campus for teachers and of age students with CCL. Stop making our kids bait for nuts by advertising there will be no one there to resist. www.armedcampuses.org/texas/

I dont see why grade schools and colleges cant have a ID badges set up to enter buildings and even select rooms based on the students schedule/major.
