JACKPOT! Aledo Freshmen and Junior Varsity Schedules Released
By Steve Keck- Aledo Sports Daily
Aledo Bearcat Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshmen Schedule
Aledo Athletic Director Tim Buchanan has done it again. He has another great schedule for the Sub-Varsity teams featuring the Southlake Carroll Dragons and Allen Eagles among others this season.
The Bearcats played these two powerhouse schools strong last year. My thought was it may be tough to schedule Southlake Carroll again after Aledo took three of four games last year. The only loss was the Freshman Orange team 33-28.
The rationale being a Class 6A school may not like getting beat up by a Class 5A school. However, it probably comes down to finding quality opponents regardless of classification. Once district play begins, there is little competition for the Bearcat Sub-Varsity teams.
The Freshmen Black and Orange get Carroll and Allen at home August 27 and September 3. The Junior Varsity teams travel to Carroll and Allen.
In week three, all four teams are at home. The JV gets Class 6A L.D. Bell at Bearcat Stadium. Coach Buchanan added another powerhouse program for the Freshmen. They will play the Euless Junior High Freshmen. This is the feeder school for Euless Trinity. The games will be at Old Bearcat Stadium.
Finding teams for the JV Black is always an adventure. It looks like Crowley and Burleson will both have two JV teams this year. We will have to see if these two teams can honor their commitment. None of the other District 8-5A teams have two Junior Varsity squads. That leaved Coach Buchanan five slots to fill for JV Black.
Scanning the globe for potential opponents, Coach Buchanan found some interesting teams to play the JV Black.
They will play All Saints on September 17 at Bearcat Stadium when the varsity is on an off week.
The JV Black gets Midlothian Heritage at Old Bearcat Stadium on September 24. Heritage is the ninth grade campus for Class 6A Midlothian High School.
On October 1, Stephenville comes to Old Bearcat Stadium.
On October 8, JV Black plays a brand spanking new high school in the Northwest ISD. The Bearcats will travel to Eaton High School in Haslet.
The Leadership Academy of Fort Worth visits Bearcat Stadium on October 29.
