I was going to post this a couple days ago but I was on a Hill Country road trip to visit family. There's been alot of talk this week about adding two more teams to the league. one of the cities they're interesting in putting a team is good ole San Antone. I think there is a good chance we can get a Third MLB team in Texas. This is interesting, because if we make a 32 team league, will we change the divisions to look more like the NFL ( North South West East)? If so, would the playoff format be the same as the NFL? Will this significantly help the popularity of the sport? Which Two cities do yall think will get a team? Or will they even go through with this?
Here's a link to the story on ESPN

Personally I believe one of the expansion teams if the decide to go down that path will be in Canada probably in Montreal and then the other team I would hope they bring to San Antonio

Putting baseball back in Montreal. If they do make a team in SA, what shall we call them? The San Antonio Saddles? The Dillos? the BlueBonnets? or they could just use the name of the Minor league team there(Missions).

Are the tax payers ready to spring for the stadium MLB will demand SA build? I suspect MLB will use SA just like the NFL does to get another city they are really interested in to pony up the cash by feigning interest in SA.

Well if SA wants a mlb team it better find away to pony up 600 plus million for a retractable roof stadium. Marlins park opened 2012 at price tag 630 million, Target field in Minnesota opend 2010 cost of 545 million for open air baseball stadium.

Interesting article. thank you. Every citizen in SA can just pitch in like 50 cents right? isn't that how it works? Austin wouldn't be a bad place to put it either. But I always here about how terrible the city council is with managing their money. For example, their pushing for people to use their train system that no one wants to use. I even here they want to put gondolas all around downtown.

They don't nearly get the rain that Houston or Miami receives. On average it's dry during the majority of the baseball season especially from July to September unless a tropical system hits the cost and shoot moisture to the hill country. Heat? It's probably hotter in Arlington on average and the Rangers have done just fine attendance wise. That's why the only day time games they have in the summer in Arlington are primarily Sunday afternoon games and even then they play on occasion on Sunday evening.

I think MLB has a good thing going with 30 teams. They need to keep their focus on instant replay and game pace.
It was not 10 years ago mlb was talking contraction because of a shallow talent pool.

Arlington is with out a doubt hotter than SA in the summer. Finding pitchers for two more teams is a problem. There are not enough now even after expanding their search world wide.

Almost every rule change The MLB had made favors the hitter. There is plenty of pitching.

They could really use another ball park. However, round rock is not to far way which is AAA. Where the mission play now is sort of cool it's out near some farmland. I actually like the location now as you do not have to fight traffic.
