Chute "im!
I think I know a few of those folks.
I love that the narrator can't pronounce Pierre Part or Paincourtville. I have ex in-laws that live in the area. Most of them are sugar cane farmers.

Had a great conversation with two coon azzez about 3 weeks ago. One lives in New Iberia, the other in Houma (spelling??). They were great guys and we laughed our azzez off talking about the show. They said 90% of it is all 'show' and BS they do for the cameras like 'fighting' the gators. One guy has hunted them his entire life and said only very rarely does one put up any kind of fight at all. He said you pull them up slowly and dispatch them without so much as a ripple in the water! LOL Kind of funny that they were both born and raised in the towns I listed but didn't talk anything like the fellas on the show! LOL They actually knew a couple of the guys on the show and said that they are really great guys and now are making some good cash because of it! Good for them!!!

Derived from a tribe of Indians (Native Americans) in the area. When Hurricane Katrina went thrugh Houma it did about 27 million dollars worth of improvements!

We have an office in New Iberia...you can buy boudin at ever gas station around there. My son and I watched it the other night and it is great. My boss said he had a cousin from the other side of his family ask him if there were really people like that in La. As GPJohn can attest, southern La. is like a whole different world. I love it though. Hell GPJohn, I had to bring up the Cajun OnStar for my son to watch....

I got one coon azz working for me and I believe he's originally from the New Iberia area. My Lord Almighty, that guy is an outright laugh! I swear he's made me come as close as anyone has on many occasions to making me pizz my pants laughing so hard!
Dude told me a story once about a trip they took in a 20' boat out to the first rigs to do some diving. He is unbelievably afraid of the salt water and won't tough it. He only went along to drink the other 6 guy's beer while they were below the surface spear fishing. A T-storm blew up and capsized the boat and he told me he was standing on a floating 120 qt ice chest with a beer in each hand when the 6 other guys came to the surface! LMFAO
