"Troy Byrne will be the future Pebble Hills principal and is the current principal at the ninth-grade academy. He said the school will open with ninth- and 10th-graders and will offer varsity level team sports in the 6A Division." Is Socorro Pebble Hills going to be 6A in 2016? Elsewhere, I've read that the school will open this fall with 1000 students in grades 9-10. Naturally, that should be at 1500 kids in 2016, but surely not much more than that!?! El Dorado is currently at 3977 and will certainly take a large hit. By my estimates, there should be about 2500 students there in 2016, but that is variable. The max for both of these schools is supposed to be 2600. www.kfoxtv.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/Socorro-ISD-plans-Pebble-Hills-High-School-new-elementary-school-61587.shtml#.VTXFs_2NXwIDoesn't sound like it. Socorro ISD currently had Eastlake in 5A. Well, he didn't misspeak like I originally thought. I'm guessing the multiplier came into effect here.

It will eventually pull Southwest into 5A but not until 2019. And I think Harlan was a bad name for the new Northside HS. And for that matter, San Antonio Mackey in Judson ISD.

Corpus Christi opens new Veterans Memorial for Varsity Distrct play and I hope the UIL puts all 6 CCISD schools in same district. It will give Moody and Miller a break in Footballand fun to watch Moody and Carroll in Basebaall

And for that matter, San Antonio Mackey in Judson ISD. What's wrong with Mackey? The school is named for the recently retired superintendent, and the community thinks he wasn't there long enough and didn't do enough to warrant naming a school after him. I don't have a problem with it because that name is at least unique among high schools.

He was only there for 7 years....so yeah, I can kind of understand why the community is pissed.

It was shady that everyone submitted names and they ended up choosing his, but that's what you get for naming schools after people, which I think is kinda dumb. Maybe Elementary schools, but not at the secondary level.

People were pissed that they asked for input from the community but totally ignored the community and picked their own name. LOL
