I cannot imagine Prosper being in the same district as Allen. That would be a blood bath... The had a good record last year, but look who they played. They lost to Wakeland and we were up on Wakeland 21-0 before we subbed in the 3rd string in the 4th quarter and let them make it closer than it really was...


The coach they brought in, that left for a college job, had a Cedar Park / Run Heavy offense. Prosper doesn't have the line or backs for that type of offense. I think the new coach was on staff, however I'm not sure if they made a change in the offense.

Chris Ross left for Boise State to be an assistant coach. You're right CP ran the read option out of a spread formation. The current Prosper HC Brandon Schmidt was the CP Offensive Line coach under both Ross and Willis. He had some pretty big boys to work with while he was here. Anyway not sure how involved he is in the play calling at Prosper but if he's working with the OL he'll get the best out of them.

Ector County ISD's bond advisory committee has come to a consensus to build a new 2500-student HS and convert an existing MS into a new 1500-student HS. That would bring Odessa and Permian down to 5A, but with the divisional split coming soon, the ISD could have 4 schools in 3 different divisions. Not a good strategy for west Texas.

Lamar CISD's bond recommendation calls for HS #6, which will hold 2000 students and open in 2020. If the board approves, the vote for the bond will be in November.

I wonder where they plan to build that new school. Fulshear took away from Foster. I wonder if this one will be on the south side and take away from George Ranch and drop them down to 5A again?

I've added Mansfield HS #6 to the list. Lake Ridge will need to continue overcrowding before the district asks for a new bond to be passed to fund it. Looks to me like we'll see the new school around 2022.

Frisco ISD may move away from the small school model. Now is the time, since there are 5 high schools on each side of the district and before they move forward with HS #11.

Prosper is next. Their current high school is 100% built for 6A and looks a lot like McKinney Boyd. My guess is Prosper goes the Plano route with 2-3 high schools (not sure if they will split the high schools and the Senior Highs). My guess is 3 schools 9-12 that will all share one stadium.

Eagle Mountain-Saginaw will try to pass a $525M bond this fall. $261M would go towards HS #4, but quite a bit of it would go to Boswell's athletics programs. HS #4 would open around 2022.

Not a new school, but Argyle ISD is expect to double in size in the next 5 years. That means Argyle will be probably be over 1200 in time for 2022 realignment, and could be 5A by 2024. Build-out projections have Argyle at just under 3000 HS students.

Little Elm is projecting almost 2300 students by 2020. Expect Little Elm to make the jump to 6A in 2020 realignment.

The Colony is projecting 2200 by 2022. I don't know if that will be enough to qualify for 6A or not. Interestingly, Flower Mound Marcus is supposed to drop all the way down to about 2500 kids, Lewisville will exceed 5000, Hebron will be around 3500, and Flower Mound will be around 3300. LISD could fix this by adjusting the Marcus-FM and Hebron-TC zones, and converting LHS-Harmon into its own comprehensive HS.

That is a different method than next door rival Anna, which will have 4 HS that hold 2000 students each at build-out.

It is kind of sad, actually, since Melissa will lose its biggest rival and may end up having to build a 2nd HS anyway. Should just shoot for 2 HS around 1750-2000 students IMO.

Since Anna HS will be 5A within 5 years, I feel obliged to show the stadium renovation that will take place this offseason. Coyote Stadium's home-side stands will come down and be replaced. The visitor-side stands will be added on to again. It was always weird bc the visitor-side has more rows than the home side, but the home side extends the length of the field -- that will change. The stadium will then offer reserved seating, so I plan on grabbing one for when Denison is on a bye or out of town. The new capacity will be around 4600, and the name will change to Anna ISD Stadium.
