REFUGIO - The Bobcats (2-0) gained over 600 yards of total offense and had four players score multiple touchdowns in Friday's 56-13 win over Mathis. Jaylon Mascorro had just two passes fall incomplete. He finished with 334 passing yards and five touchdowns, including throws of 73, 43 and 11 yards for Refugio's three scores in the second quarter. Les Rhodes was the leading receiver with just two catches, but both of the catches were touchdowns and he gained 129 yards. Tyler Castellano caught six passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Isaiah Perez led the ground attack for Refugio, totaling 120 yards on 11 carries and a pair of touchdowns.
Refugio Football Tradition
38 District Championships (Current Streak 2004-present) 20 Region IV Championships 12 State Semi-Finalists 6 State Finalists ('68,'70,'82,'87,'11,'13) 3 State Champions ('70,'82,'11)
Mathis walked all over Banquete, I figured this game would of been more competitive. Next will be San Diego, Hebronville played them close it could be another blowout.

Another impressive thing was seeing how Refugio put it on yoakum... And then see last night how yoakum put it on halletsville top ranked in big school 3A... It was just a scrim but droptine was right, Refugio dominated Yoakum.

Are any of those Refugio players from last year getting any college playing time this fall? Keep us updated on them.

I saw where the Slanina kid y'all faced from East Bernard is doing well at TCU. I was at that game and that kid is an amazing athlete. I'm thinking he will be playing on Sunday one day.

Ty is doing awesome and was their #1 WR in catches last week. I see him playing on Sundays too...4.31 combine speed. Still not Alice speed, but close.
