NuStar Energy LP (NS) officially opened its third petroleum dock at the Port of Corpus Christi, Texas, as Chairman Bill Greehey smashed a bottle of champagne against a loading arm that was filling a barge with crude. Hence why the population is going to explode. And our school districts need to get their collective butts in gear to compete both in the academic and athletic arenas. Some are doing the job, but others are a little to content and need to start getting aggressive or they will lose their place among the better districts.
It's not only the direct export of petro or NG that is going to lead to the big growth. It's actual manufacturing of indirect by products or even goods not related to petro that is going to sustain the growth even if the oil component takes a hit which it will from time to time due to the markets. The natural gas being produced in Eagle Ford will allow for companies to produce their own energy plants on the cheap which they can also power desal with. Boom you have an abundant source of electric and water production and a much lower cost than even you can get in China. Hence why the pipe plant is being built in Portland, for example.
I can see a scenario where the Coastal Bend will now be able to compete for things like Auto plants and high tech component types of manufacturing in the future.
