Refugio knocked off Cisco 2 years ago, it was dubed the most exciting game of the state playoffs. Ciscos Mason Reed and Refugios Travis Quintanilla where key players for both teams in that first meeting, now they are both back. I may be wrong but this may be Ciscoe 5th try for a championship in 13 years. Cisco has blown out the competition, while Refugio has struggled to get into the championship round. Was it because of better competition? Well have to wait and see. Region 4 will have 3 teams playing Thursday for a state championship, first will be 1a Fall City, 2nd game 1a Shiner, 3rd Cameron Yoe at 8pm 2a Refugio.

Great seasons Port Lavaca and Sinton you have gotten a good taste of what its all about, may they come back hungry for more. Next season starts now so get those weights to pumping. Refugios 6th, 7th and 8th grade and the ones that didn't make varsity are tearing up the weight room and football season hasn't ended for Refugio yet. Waskom posters have made lots of comments on how solid Refugios kids looked, some made accusations they have to be on roids. Refugio has 1 heck of a weight room and it gets used. Now you know the secret to Refugios success and its not roids.

Fox South West will air the first 3 games on Thursday then show the Dallas Stars, I wonder what channel Refugios game will air on.

On Time Warner it will be shown on channel 307 Fox College Sports Central - but you have to have the Sports Pack to be able to view it. I confirmed this with TWC - they said that there are no other channels showing it at this time (or live). I found it on Direct TV online channel guide on channel 677 FSN. |

If you have Direct TV, it will be on FSSW Alt. I believe channel 679.

All I can say is WOW, like the game from 2 years ago started as it had ended, 28 to 21 at the half. Cisco has not stoped Refugio, Refugio killing themselves with penalties. A very exciting game or I may be a homer.
