This guy brings some to the table. CORPUS CHRISTI β West Oso High School hired Sweeny defensive coordinator Eric Luster as head football coach.
Luster, who played football at Midwestern State, spent time as an assistant at Garland High School, Wichita Falls Rider and North Garland before taking the defensive coordinator's job at Sweeny.
He was at Rider for five seasons, where he was the wide receivers coach and junior varsity head coach. During his time at Rider, the team went 47-18 and made the playoffs all five years - including three trips to the fourth round.
At Sweeny last year, Luster's defense gave up an average of 18 points per game. Sweeny went 8-4 last year and beat Ingleside and Robstown in the playoffs before losing to Wimberley in the third round.

Guess he was desperate for a HC job....... Well everyone has to start somewhere...I'm sure if he has some success he'll parlay that into a better HC gig somewhere else.

Guess he was desperate for a HC job....... It's not like he's taking over a program with little success, albeit the basketball team has kind of overshadowed the football program sort of like baseball with Robstown. But unlike Robstown who has recently found some gridiron success, Oso has made some runs in the playoffs and has some good talent. I think Coach Guess sort of lost his Mojo there as he was seeking other job openings for the past few years and finally got one. He might have been running out the clock so to speak.

Hope he does well there!
There has to be some great athletes there to do what the basketball team has, so if he can get them headed in a football direction he might get something special going.

Previous W.O. coach, Joe Salinas, was there for a year and bailed to take an assistant position at Skidmore.
