OT Roger went for 2 on the extra and Refugio made the stop. Refugio kicked its extra and won the game. Refugios Travis Quintanilla needed 12 yards to brake the state record total yardage and he passed for 712 yards. Refugio was down by 9 and found a way to go ahead and Roger then found a way to get the tie 66 to 66. Rogers would of won it if it had kicked the extra, the snap was low. Back to back kick off returns for tds this game had everything

Nice to see that he actually needed everyone of those 712 yards to win the game. That is special. As opposed to the way he broke Gilberts record by the likes of Benavides, etc.

LOL The question is, are both Rogers and Refugio simply that great offensively, or will Refugio take it on the chin again this year from EB this week because they have a good defense? T Quintanilla is a good QB. What colleges have offered him so far?

As opposed to the way he broke Gilberts record by the likes of Benavides, etc. if Refugio really wanted to put the passing record out of reach of any up coming Qbs it could of put 700 yard plus on every district team it played. That number was on a regional final game and Refugio hasn't played Benavides in what 3 years? A district game, you have play the cards your dealt. Good news though Refugio will stay 2a because they turned in 187 for its snap shot. East Bernard has 100 more kids than Refugio that should make things a little more even.

Rogers stacked the box to stop the run so Refugio moved the ball with the pass and really scored too quick so that it hurt the Defense keeping them on the field. You would of had to see the game, Rogers didn't waste time getting the snap off. Will try to find some footage of the game. T Q was dead on with the pass in some tight coverage

So what is your take on this week's game? I know you are pulling for Regugio of course but what is your honest, gut feeling about this game?

Though they didn't have any 'monsters' on that team, there were quite a few O & D lineman that looked like they were pumped out of a mold that was about 6' to 6'2", 220-250......& solid as hell! I do know they lost one of their stud offensive players to TCU last year but they had a ton of sophomores and juniors on that EB team. And I also agree that they will not surprise Refugio at all this year. It will most likely be a much tighter game but in the end I think EB wins by 7-10 points.

His senior year all four teams went to third round at least. Non district schedule all good teams.

So what is your take on this week's game? I know you are pulling for Regugio of course but what is your honest, gut feeling about this game? East Bernard team last year the O lines and D lines where all Srs plus the Ty Slannia TCU guy. They will not be hurting though with 25 Srs back, that's a lot of Srs by any ones standard. A 6-5 receiver that is Rice bound was also lost because of a broke collar bone. Refugios Qb will have to be almost perfect to get this win, count to 4 and if no one is open run. Cant get caught for yardage loss or a sack hit that could cause a fumble. Some news footage www.kristv.com/videos/quintanilla-puts-team-ahead-of-records/
