I know, I know.......they are just freshman! But, this is a game I'd truly love to see.
After our game with CC Carroll last night I spoke with a couple of the Carroll kids dads. I asked them what they thought if Steele and Callalen's fresh would square off. They had VERY high praise for the Calallen team and said they are one Hell of a team across the board.
They said they thought it would be a really good game and Cal would be able to slow down Steele's offense as they play great D but said they felt Steele's D would be the difference. One dad said when they got to the stadium and saw our kids warming up in the endzone in all black he asked a man at the concessions where the freshman games were because he was positive this was the Steele JV team. LMAO I said yeah, our kids are pretty good size. He said it aint just the size......it's the team speed that started him more.
I don't know which way the game would go but I just know I'd love to see it. Maybe you Cal fans that have ties and contact to Coach D can push him to contact coach Lehnhoff and see if they can set up a home/away series for the next two years??? I know these two groups would not be Srs until 2016 season but at least we could get the series started and hopefully they'd be great games and it would continue.
Sounds to me like Calallen may have some very special teams coming up and could be the toast of the coast for a good while again much like the 90s were.

Calallen's Fish beat Carroll 41-0 and Steele beat them 58-0. Yea, I can see both teams having an all out battle if we could arrange it in the future. I think I've noted it on the board and other Calallen folks have as well, collectively the next five years (including this year) look about as talented filled as we've had in awhile here and that Freshmen team will be at the heart of it. Our JV has a ton of speed and power backs and maybe a few of them will be making a debut today as they've been bumped up from what I understand. Likewise we will see a few others as the weeks come in the playoffs. The JV is pretty damn good in itself and on it's way to winning district as well. And our eighth grade boys are huge, maybe some of the biggest boys as group from position to position since the last decade. Also winning district and not far behind them are some speedy seventh graders.

Havnt seen the Cats play now since SC last met up with em. Too damn long! We may get a chance to meet again in a few weeks depending on how things shake out! Maybe, but not looking that likely right now. I've not seen SC play in about 4 weeks but it is obvious looking at box scores that the D is nowhere near what it was early in the year. To give up this many to AH and Hays the last three weeks is very, very concerning to me. They have either lost a step or two or I simply mis-judged them in the two games I watched against Del Rio and Lockhart. But, they did shutout Tivy just after that Lockhart game so they were playing pretty good D. I also liked what I saw in their 'nastiness' on that side of the ball and especially the twins at DE. On a good note, my Knights finally played some Steele Knight D last night on CC Carroll Limiting them to just a little over 100 total yards and that includes the 2nds getting all of the 4th qtr! If not for 4 TOs by us last night that game would have gotten very ugly. Hats off to the CC Carroll boys though for playing hard and never quitting. There are some nice looking athletes on that squad and that young QB is gonna be a good one I think. He's quick but the poor kid was absolutely running for his life last night in Schertz.
