So tonight I had the experience of the worst officiating ever. So my 6-man junior high team was playing in Austin, and it was horrible to put it mildly. The other team targeted/speared our kids every tackle, they ripped off two kids helmets and threw them down the field in which the ref said our player willingly took his helmet off during the play. If they were not targeting or spearing the kids they were horse collar tackling or tackling by the helmet... When we called the ref out on it, his explanation was unbelievable... He stated and I quote "coach they can tackle by the head, neck, shoulders, they just can't touch the face mask... It's ok what their doing." Me and the head coach almost lost it at that point. Then when the other team had the ball the coach would huddle them up by the hash mark then the ref would blow the whistle to start the play clock, give him two warnings a play, then they'd break that huddle then huddle again without the coach, in which the ref would blow the whistle again to start the clock yet again and allow about a minute or so per play.. But told us we needed to go faster when our kid was under the pile cause he got tackled and was running back to the huddle to get the next play... Oh and then they were able to move on every snap before the snap too... It was like wow ok so they play by different rules in Austin...

Lol kids played hard, game ended in the least amount of time I've ever seen, maybe 30 minutes total... We still lost the game but the kids did everything they could and gave everything they had...

Holy crap man, that is bad!
I thought the ones we had last night in SM were bad simply because they would not call a hold on SM and they did it every play....blatantly right in front of the referee in SM's backfield..........or when they called our kid for 15 yards for hitting their kick return guy when he was BLOCKED IN THE BACK into him, or when they scored their only TD and said that our kid forced the receiver out so he was allowed to come back into the endzone yet the TV/youtube clip clearly shows their WR tripping over the goal line pylon and going out of bounds with our DB 2 yards from him! ROFLMAO
That entire series was a blatant attempt to keep it from getting worse when it was already 28-0 early in the 2nd.
What you are talking about is an entirely other animal though where kids could have gotten seriously hurt because the officials either didn't know the rules or simply were turning a blind eye to the BS!

I think it was they don't know the rules cause yeah I'd hate to think they knew and didn't do anything... Luckily no one got hurt badly
