Coldsprings edges La Marque
Saturday, September 14, 2013
Coldspring 24, La Marque 22
COLDSPRING β A bad snap and a safety led to last-minute heartbreak for the Cougars, who lost to Coldspring 24-22 in a back-and-forth game at Trojan Stadium on Friday.
With the game tied 22-22 and less than a minute to go, a La Marque drive stalled. The Cougars dropped back to punt and try to force the game into overtime when a wild snap sent the ball sailing out of La Marqueβs own end zone β the self-inflicted safety won it for Coldspring.
La Marque will step onto the field at Reliant Stadium next Friday to play Lamar Consolidated.
NOTE: La Marque lost to Coldspring-Oakhurst in 2012 as well.
