I went to the freshman game a couple of weeks ago at Calallen and saw a running back that really impressed me. He had 2 carries for about 140 yards and 2 TDs. He runs like a cross between Adrian Peterson and Herschel Walker. Great speed, balance, and power. I heard he comes from a broken home and instability and has a hard time getting to practices and such. I would REALLY hate to see that kid slip through the cracks. He has a great future ahead of him with some sense of guidance.

I hope he uses that incentive to use football as a bridge over some of those issues you noted. Many NFL'ers and college players of the past and current used football for that very reason. The good thing from what I've observed is he has good relationship with his teammates, so hopefully they can continue to a positive influence going forward.

FB's best freshman RB was already on the JV and when Tommy Martin got injured was moved to varsity. Likely would have been moved soon anyway. I was getting texts at the game Friday night from both sides asking who #6 was. Name is Reidel Clayton. Against King JV the week before I saw him break runs of 96, 65 and 55 yards.
