Leander is ranked in most state polls and is a top 5 team IMO. Hendrickson was 16-5A champions in 2012, undefeated in league, but they dropped their first two games to 4A schools from 25-4A, Rouse and Leander. This year they shut out Rouse 28-0 and face Leander whom they lost to 35-0 this week in what should be a big game statewide and in the Austin area. The Hawks have a quite a few D1 commits and RB, Samaje Perine, who is no joke and headed to OU. Leander is know for defense and speed, while Hendrickson is known for speed and D1 RBs, like Kenny Williams at Tech and Daje Johnson at Texas. The Hawks also have size, some pretty big OL/DL compared to the Lions, so this should be a battle or maybe another step towards an undefeated top 3 matchup when the Lions face the T-Wolves in district for the title, since none of the teams seems as strong s Rouse was last year, unless Vista Ridge or Vandergrift have stepped up big. 25-4A might be a two team runaway this year, with those two both winning 4A titles in December.

I'm rooting for Dist 25 member Leander, but from what I have read/heard about Hendrickson and what they did to Rouse last week, it has me thinking that Leander might take it on the chin. Hendrickson's "D" had greatly improved and their "O" speaks for itself with Samaje Perine.

Leander has the P-ville ISD teams number. They have a better offense with Bridges and just as good a defense. I think they will roll. Rouse has just come back to earth from last season and basically 25-4A has two state contenders and some teams that can go three rounds or regional finals, but likely will have trouble with Brenan, Hays, Heights, Tivy, Calallen and Bluff and Calhoun.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any District no matter the classification has had two state champions DI & DII? Too bad CP or LT weren't 4a DII during the 2010 or 2011 season, because that would have happened! Rut Rho... You didn't mention Alice with the other three Coastal Bend teams. cue Cochino:

So will Texas City exact revenge at La Marque in 2013? Both teams are coming off of big victories in Week 0. Although La Marque struggled in the First Half against 4A Galveston Ball, but blew them out in the 2nd Half. Texas City shutout 5A Dickinson. This is a huge rivalry game. Both teams used to be in the same 4A District. The only two teams from the same 4A District to win State Championships in the same year (1997). After I posted, I just so happened to stumble over CCvarmints posting about Texas City vs La Marque... Asked and Answered! I stand corrected. Thanks ccvarmints

Ill say Leander 27-14. This is a better litmus test for both teams. I think Rouse is way down from last year, something like a 50 pt. difference in that Rouse/Hendrickson game from last year. Leander dominated last year 35-0. Hendrickson seemed to play better in district though. If Leander is a top 10 team I don't see them losing, if so Hendrickson may be a lot better than I'd give them credit for.

Judson vs. Mojo and Roosevelt vs. FM Marcus won in 1995 and Texas City and LaMarque won one year in the late 1990s.
