All fans have a deep love for their High School Football Programs. We As CALHOUN Fans catch A lot of BS from some because of how we feel about our Sandcrabs. maybe I can Partially explain why we feel this way (and by no means do I believe this is exclusive to PLC.)
There is 1 High school In CCISD. That's Calhoun County ISD. Our Jr High schools, Plural, more than one. Start weight training and running Calhouns basic offensive and defensive schemes then.
At the ninth grade level their given more of both and still continue the weight training program as well as the summer Champions Course. By this time the CHS coaching staff has a good idea of which kids to play there and what their abilities are. JV Another step and so on.
So when a group of seniors graduate the coaches have the resources developed to fill the gaps. and I've seen kids that could be sitting the bench on varsity get left on the JV to get Playing time. With that comes experience and a better chance to excel when given the opportunity.
So if We fans get under your skin.....SORRY, but get over it. Maybe we have a reason to be confident in our SCHOOL, PLAYERS and COACHES.
hound out.

My son went to his first champions course this year. I'm looking forward to watching him this year on the 7th grade football team at Travis.

Most smaller schools with one high school in the system do it that way. done it the way in EC for ageso . Many head coaches prefer the single high school district for that reason they can start in the jr high level and sometimes haveimput in the pee wee leagues. as ahtletic dirercter they can control it all

I know coach whit is watching the CCYFL too. He mentioned the incoming sixth grade class as one to watch.

On an unrelated note, Cochino is spending more time on the 956/RGV forum. Btw, have any of you typed Cochino in Google? The urban dictionary description is interesting.....

The system that is in place in PLC is what makes the fans the way they are? I have been to a few PLC games myself and I have seen the PLC faithful lose faith when things aren't going their way. I know you will find some way to make me into a PLC hater but by doing that you might shed some light on why some people find it hard to side with some of the PLC faithful. It isn't the program that is in place that they get upset with. It is the way the faithful will jump all over someone if they even suggest that PLC isn't the best at everything. I work in Port Lavaca and I know that not every fan is that way. I also know some of the diehard fans are embarrased at some of the things that are posted here. But they are also the same fans that talk about reasonable goals and have an understanding that it might take more that the current system to go more than 3 rounds deep in the playoffs. I am not trying to start a debate about that so if you do, then again, you will be shedding more light on why PLC gets under people's skin. We all love football. That is why we are here. We all have our favorite teams. So try to keep an open mind and be realistic. If someone points out that you don't throw the ball. Be okay with it. If Whit doesn't call the play, then he doesn't think that he needs to. It is okay. If you are ranked #4 in the nation in Rushing, good for you. But don't be upset if someone points out that you aren't #4 in the nation in total offense. We all understand that the TO is a running attack and that PLC does it better than anyone in South Texas. That might be because they are one of the few, if not the only ones that run it. So I say, Be Proud of your team! You have a right to be. But if you don't want so much BS, maybe you shouldn't talk down to people that don't agree with your point of view. And if you reply to this with "Show Me where I said that" or "You are twisting our Words" or "You're a Hater". You will only make my point for me. So Good luck to PLC in the year to come. I hope that y'all have a great season. I hope that we get to watch some great football. Not just from PLC but from all the area teams. Just my $0.02

Alice has the same one town one team situation. It's one thing to be proud of your team and a completely different thing to undeservidely put your team on a pedestal the way you guys do. You talk about your team as of though you are a state power. Sorry but you're not.
