OK, first week, first game. Two upstarts meeting up Saturday night at Farris. I got the Mighty Buffs winning the first of many games to come this season. What do y'all think about the game?

They have had the same HC for about 7 years now, and have had a record of 5-5 once.
last year they were 3-7.
The trend is certainly against Taft... then again one of their wins last year was against Clemens. So who knows?...

Of course i gotta go with my Raiders on this one! I do think it will be a close game. SC will be much better than last year. I fully expect them to be a playoff team. After watching my Raiders go toe to toe with SA Roosevelt, I feel we have a shot at a good year. We are bigger and have more speed than last year. Defense is much better. Oline is bigger and better, and backs are faster.
Lets get it on!

I'll say this much Varsity SC can pull it off in a close one till they get the juices flowing. JV will destroy Taft and the Frosh have the potential to win depending on how Taft's feeder programs did at their respective schools. The frosh aren't the same as last years and therefore will possibly be challenged by a strong program. SC victories all around only some will be tested more in the gut and reaction will determine the end result ultimately. Varsity win, JV devastating win and frosh eek a close one if challenged.

Varsity Taft JV SC Freshman Taft
Freshman looked real good in scrimmage. JV good defense, needs work on offense. Varsity either way, these teams play each other close every year. I think Taft has enough to pull off a win.

Hey hey hey!!!!! Let's GO BUFFS!!!
I think the varisty game will be a defensive ballgame to say the least. I do not see either team getting over 21 and I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see a 14-10 type of game! By brother watched SC scrimmage last week and said that the D looked very good with several outstanding players on it. The offense will be a work in progress I think and if a RB emerges and a couple of WRs step up the Buffs might be a handful to deal with this year.
SC 14 Taft 10
I read the comments about the JV and freshman and was surprised to read that 2016 said that this years freshman group is not as strong as last years. Heck, with a much bigger class I'd think they would be just as good. I do know the future QB for the next three years at SC will be on this SC fresh team and he is a freaking stud!
I believe the Corbett 8th grade teams combined (A & B team) for a 10-6 record last year so they were very competitive.
This is it Buffs........make each play, quarter, & game count.

The freshmen ran the table on the other team, I will admit that they made quick work of them, but it took a little more effort to score than the last years team. Either way it seems they have more talent evenly distributed around the team than last years which should make for a balanced solid team.
