I think CP would have beat C-Hill, because their defense normally doesn't give up big plays and they would have still been able to run the ball on C-Hill like Guyer. CP is built on defense and Guyer is a running team that plays OK defense and let G-town jump to the big lead in the title game last year. Pretty hard to get 31, much less 38 on CP. No way, CP would have a TALENT DEFICIENCY against C-Hill. Is this guy for real?

He is known all to well for those from the Austin area as well as longtime posters here. He sometimes does hit and run trolling. He does talk some good stuff at times. he is a serious bandwagon jumper.

Don't forget his wealth of knowledge... about every coach in the State of Texas where they've been, why they left, their philosophy, why they were or weren't successful, etc. etc. etc. Oh and don't forget about his rantings on player personnel! Although he has kind things to say about CP, I take them immediately to the round file! CP vs CHill scoring prodections... REALLY? As I said previously... NO time for this stuff now! Gotta Focus on Westlake!

CP rolls a way over-rated Westlake squad that has a TE at QB. Allman you got some more losses coming, Temple, A&M and Steele? 0-4 is very likely.

Things just really haven't been the same at Westlake since Schroeder left.

Things just really haven't been the same at Westlake since Schroeder left. They'll still shred everyone in their District including Lake Travis! To me we'll see what they're made of when they travel to Steel.

CP and Leander will be 1/2 in the AAS power poll now. CP will be AP #1 in the state after Guyer's loss. A few very early observations... First off, was not able to attend the Leander game. Score pleases me, but I don't know how everything looked. Excited to finally have a more balanced offense now though. Getting Christian Levy back to Leander this year may be huge too. Look forward to another great CP/Leander game in about a month, hopefully we're both undefeated. The Rouse score, coupled with some other scores give me an early prediction... MF lost to LaGrange...just don't see them breaking through 25-4A yet. Drip lost to San Marcos. So... 5 LISD teams for 4 spots. I know Hendrickson is good this year, but last year Rouse and Leander killed them. To me, I think all the starters Rouse lost is bigger than what people thought. So much in fact that they may be the odd man out this year. Vandy and VR had pretty good wins zero week. The key here is, and correct me if I'm wrong...Rouse is the huge key in this whole mix to whether CP goes D1 or D2. If Rouse wiffs, CP all of a sudden moves to D1...really changing the landscape. D2 opens up tremendously and D1 becomes ultra competitive. This could also set the stage for CP/Leander in a state quarter. I know, I know... first week, we don't know much...just fun to look at it. CP's chance at repeating would be tougher in D1...they'd be a substantial favorite in D2 again. Anyway, I know Coach Bridges was pleased...looks like Hopp/McClatcher could be special...and they still are just juniors. I noticed Leander with some changes to the unis and helmets this year...very cool in my opinion too. New helmet has a vintage look with corresponding players number and the other side has the new lion logo. Used to have the Detroit one, then moved to the other one about a decade ago, now a new logo. Unis had tons of blue with some subtle additions and omissions...all that I liked. Congrats CP on the win.

Bridges gets the ball to his playmakers. Connally is poorly coached, but talented. CP & Leander could both win titles if both stay healthy. CP is #1, but Leander is top 5. Both teams can pass the football this year and that is dangerous, since they both play defense and have mobile QBs. The Wolves have size, while the Lions have the quicks/speed. Would not surprise if both won state titles. Bridges just missed at SA Taft and took Stevens to 5A semis, he can do it. Bastrop is weak from split and I don't think Vandy is as good as VR and Sanders is an old Taft assistant of Bridges. Hays might be very good, but have to face Heights. LBJ might be pretty good for and AISD team under old Reagan coach, Andrew Jackson, as they upset Hutto on the road, which has put some major beat downs on AISD teams over the last few years.

CP would not beat DFW and Houston top 5A schools, like Allen, DeSoto, Northshore, Katy and the likes. Stop getting drunk, just like LT could not beat a rebuilding, but talented Judson team at home. Westlake is big and slow and CP beat them and might lose to Cooper that lost to a speedy Rider team. Westlake is going 0-4 in non-district!!!

Unis had tons of blue with some subtle additions and omissions...all that I liked. Congrats CP on the win. Lots of Football to play before "What if" scenarios. ON ANOTHER NOTE... One thing I wasn't aware of until I was at the game and was visiting with some of this years parents. CP's All District Fullback was asked to play Defense this Fall, which I thought would be the case and decided last Spring! Apparently this Fall in no uncertain terms he was told he wouldn't play as much unless he went to the Defensive side of the ball. He didn't want to make the move so he just quit. We could have used him Friday as well as throughout the year. Unfortunately our Jr. Halfback is out (not sure how long) and the other halfbacks need more experience between the takles. He's the back that dragged SA Brennan taklers for multiple yards and ended up with 99 yds. total in the Regional final last year. Not sure of the specifics and I think he's been known to have an attitude, but I hate to see ultimatums given to kids! It puts them in an akward position... sure its the team and always should be the team first, but if you really want to play offense and not defense (apparently he had some smaller colleges looking at him as a back). Let'em keep trying... once the season starts if he's not playing much he'll either ride the bench or switch to play more! Just my 2 cents

This just weeded out a ME player rather than a TEAM player and shows how these kids are all about the me and being it. So he doesn't want to WASTE his time winning back to back state titles if he isn't going to star? #35?

Congrats to CP on a big win and sorry you guy's lost a key player. Hopefully ya'll will just reload as always. Thanks Antlers, I'm sure they'll find someone to fill in, I just hope it's someone who can take some of the pressure off of Nate Grimm! I really don't think he should be running as much as he did the first game.
