Does anyone know anything about Lockhart They are the are the BBQ capital of Texas. They have a population of 12,698 as of 2010. And they have a really cool looking courthouse. If the football team is as good as the thier BBQ, VW has a huge hill to climb.

Ok talking about football team guys lol! just messing with ya. I can't find much on them... 2012 Record: 6-4 Previous Meeting: Lockhart 55 VW 12 TexasHSFootball.com ranks their defense 7th in district 27-4a And I think this is Lockhart's 3rd year under the head coach...

I think Lockhart runs a slot t offense. It gave Tivy trouble for about 3qt last year then we finally shut it down their defense wasnt very stout. They should have a decent running game again. That is about all I know.

In most other districts Lockhart would be a prime contender for a playoff spot. However, the Lions have the misfortune of competing in a competitive 27-4A.
Don't remember if the Lions finished 6th or 7th place last year, but they have their hands full trying to make the playoffs again this year.
However, this is not a district matchup and Lockhart should compete well against Vic West.
I'm taking the Lions in this contest.

Any word from this game? The score indicates a thriller... Nice W for VW.

Lockhart didn't have much .... Lions scored with zero seconds left then where penalized for celebration, moved them back 15 yards and made it a 32 yard PAT missed ... Refs took it out of the kids hands

When Lockhart scored with 0:00 left on the clock, their team on the sideline ran onto the field. It is my understanding that this is a penalty. Maybe someone that has some refereeing background can elaborate. My understanding is that it wasn't a judgement call, it is automatic. Much like breaking the huddle with 12 players, it isn't intentional, but it is still a penalty.
Ironically, I saw the Lockhart Coach Hug the Referee. That was after the penalty and before the kick.
It was a shame that either team had to lose that game. They both made mistakes and they both recovered from them.
Just my $0.02

I would like to hear from a ref as well .... I don't think it can be compared to breaking a huddle with 12 he could have warned the coach and kept the flag in is pocket, I saw a bunch of celebrating after scores that wasn't called
