Yeah. Our HC is also the AD. I'll find him tomorrow at our scrimmage with Aledo and tell him he's a puss! It's pretty fun because you get a chance to see a lot of kids that will be playing on TV on Saturdays. I can imagine, that would be fun. Yea get after that AD, he is doing such a poor job. LOL

I think the tough schedule (maybe the toughest of any 4A in the state) helped Guyer last year, and I think it'll help this year. Playing all 5A, and damn good 5A, exposed their weaknesses early, gave them things to work on, and held egos in check. They went 1-2 against Cedar Hill, Colleyville Heritage, and Flower Mound Marcus, and then ran the table. This is their schedule this year as well. Add in Allen next year to boot. Marcus was a 3-7 team last year but other than that, yeah. Then again, Cedar Hill's non-district schedule was ridiculous: Denton Guyer, Allen, and some state champion from Florida.

Ken Purcell is the district AD, Coach Walsh is the school AD and has a large input in scheduling. FM Marcus was in arguably in on of the top 3 districts in 5A.

I know for a fact some coaches/ADs do in fact have a lil influence with who they play so let's not be naive...

Well in our case (Guyer), our HC/AD has almost exclusive right. As a matter of fact, they're the ones (HC's) scrambling around at the UIL redistricting meetings finding other coaches to schedule with. He's always believed in a tough non-district schedule. Hell, we even have scrimmaged Aledo for the past 3 years.

Exactly...the coaches do find teams to play and it's biannual that this occurs.
