Dearest CC_Varmints... Don't tell those of us that don't agree with you that we condone dirty play just because we don't agree with you. The kid appears to be going full speed and sees the quarterback in motion and tries to slow down and falls. He fell with his BACK to the QBs legs. I've never seen someone throw their damn back at someones legs if they are trying to be dirty. He was obviously trying to pull away. You are seeing what you want to see. The collision happens at the same time the ball is leaving the hands of the QB so you are completely wrong to say he hit him AFTER he threw the ball. And what if it would have been a pump fake? You can't just stop when you are that close because you see the QB cock his arm. Once again, you have your interpretation and I have mine, but don't come on here accusing me of condoning dirty play just because I don't see it your way. Narcissistic much? cochino, you are not the supreme ruler of the football realm. It is a scrimmage. Any Defender going after a QB's legs below the knee is an intent to cause injury. Attitude and behavior condone dirty play. By trying to justify is condoning. It was not a clean play on the QB. Especially for a scrimmage. You can have your opinion, but that was a dirty cheap shot at the Refugio QB's lower legs. I did not say it was a late hit. The intent to go after a stationary QB's lower legs is to cause injury.

You are correct, it wasn't suppose to be but that play was the one that broke the camels back. Refugios starting Qb may miss the next scrim with Yoakum with a hurt ankle. Lots of talking went on in the scrimmage so Refugio has some fault but Refugio didn't try to take out any AP players. The guy that got the shot on the Qb face masked the guy blocking him, I watched it on the game film. Any other cheap shots before the one in the video where the Refs had to step in? Another AP kid was sent to the bench for extra stuff after the tackle of Refugio soph running back. Maybe AP felt they where being picked on?

that stuff starts at the top, if the head coach had allowed it to go on all night and did nothing to stop it that tell you a lot about the character of the coach and kids. being from Ingleside I have always had the perception of AP of being a dirty team. that may be a biased opinion since they have been our biggest rivals for many decades. but not so much now that we don't play them since they drop down to 2A. I think what we are seeing in this video the end of what kind of plays had been going on all night.

Are you serious? A Defensive player going for the legs of a QB after he has passed the ball and in a Scrimmage??? That was clearly a cheap shot to the lower legs. I don't care how clear or not clear the picture is. To deny and say anything else is condoning dirty behavior. I watched it. It's borderline. Looked to me like the defensive player at least started going for the hit before he released the ball. Was listening to a couple of radio guys this morning who were saying that the new emphasis on preventing shots to the head is already leading to more tacklers going for the legs, at least in the NFL. Maybe an unintended consequence. Looks like when that defensive end came around to make the tackle he was realy off balance then the qb stepped up to throw the ball the de fell to the QB legs, cheap shot imo no just sloppy balance

My ex teammate took over the AP program this season and I can assure you he does not condone dirty play. He is the most respectful person you will ever meet. Went and got a degree from Rice. Could be doing anything he wants but coaches because he loves being a good influence on kids. That was not a dirty play. The kid from AP is going full speed and appears to lose balance and fall down. Which is why he turned and fell with his back to the QB.

Yes dude it's all BS. That's why half the people on here disagree with what you are saying. I think you give yourself way too much credit. And I am not a Refugio fan. I despise the Refugio HC and the arrogant attitude he has spread to his team and the community. Bottom line, that was a dity cheap shot for a scrimmage. That is stuff that NFL players did to *D i c k Butkus to shorten his NFL career. Like I said, if the shoe was on the other foot and a VE player did it to the Alice QB last week, you would not be defending that VE player.

Why only half? Did you only poll half? Is it exactly half? I absolutely love comebacks like this one. Proves you don't have a real comeback. Your interpretation is your interpretation. You have no idea what was going through that kids mind. And there is nothing clear cut about him targeting the legs. The kid is turning the corner full speed and appears to lose balance. THAT'S WHY HE FELL WITH HIS BACK TO THE QB.

Yes dude it's all BS. That's why half the people on here disagree with what you are saying. Not quite half anymore....I talked to a friend that was at the scrimmage. He said that crap was going on all night, this was just the only video that made it to the internet. Refugio coach told them to get off his field.
