It's hard to tell. The qb stepped up into the pocket, and AP player appeared to hit the QB with his back as he fell, on purpose? We will never know. Edit: I'm watching on a 2"'screen, not 20" or 22", so I may be wrong, th people look like ants on my phone so it's really hard for me to tell. I can see the jest of what happened but can't say one way or the other.

No. You don't know what you are talking about. I can see it pretty good on my 22" Monitor. Your attititude is the same attitude of the disease that is spread. Denying and condoning cheap shots and dirty behavior. It was not a clean play. Your mouth is a trash can that spews garbage every time you type the words. You wouldn't talk that way if a Victoria East Defender did the same to the Alice QB. lmfao. Wow you can see something on your 22" that I am unable to see on my 20"? Holy cow I guess the 2" does make a difference. Give me a damn break. Nobody is condoning dirty play. I am simply stating the obvious. YOU CAN'T SEE ANYTHING ON THE VIDEO. Are you Superman that you have the ability to see through things? You can see through that crowd of players and coaches in front of the play? Why even lie knowing everyone in here can click the link and see the video for themselves. You can't see anything. But go ahead and come back at me with more nonsense that I condone cheap shots. I can only shake my head a laugh at your ignorance. Try going frame by frame. Any blow below the knees after the QB has thrown the ball is going for the legs as a cheap shot. You have your opinion. Does not make your opinion right nor does it make it wrong. A key part in anything is "intent." Did the Defender attempt to break up the pass? Did the Defender attempt to wrap up the QB? What is clear is that the Defender dove for the lower legs below the knee.

It's a scrimmage... Most of the time in scrimmages the whistle blows immediately if they are about to hit the QB.... That's just an understood rule in a scrimmage by coaches and officials.... But as far as the video, I saw the hit but I also saw the Refugio reaction that made it worse... The coach did right for stopping it before a real fight broke out....

No rush on punters, often blow the whistle when a WR catches a pass.

Just watched the hit about 20 times from my iPad, it doesn't look accidental to me.
Coach did the right thing getting them out of there, the fans had obviously had enough and so had the kids. You can tell by their reaction that the dirty play wasn't a big surprise.
Back in the day that would have been a full on bench clearing fight....

Its a sad thing to watch wish it didn't happen, but I had to laugh when the little copper ran out into the field.

I agree with Chino. I don't see any clear evidence of a cheap shot. I would like an AP poster's point of view. Are you serious? A Defensive player going for the legs of a QB after he has passed the ball and in a Scrimmage??? That was clearly a cheap shot to the lower legs. I don't care how clear or not clear the picture is. To deny and say anything else is condoning dirty behavior. I watched it. It's borderline. Looked to me like the defensive player at least started going for the hit before he released the ball. Was listening to a couple of radio guys this morning who were saying that the new emphasis on preventing shots to the head is already leading to more tacklers going for the legs, at least in the NFL. Maybe an unintended consequence.

Dearest CC_Varmints...
Don't tell those of us that don't agree with you that we condone dirty play just because we don't agree with you. The kid appears to be going full speed and sees the quarterback in motion and tries to slow down and falls. He fell with his BACK to the QBs legs. I've never seen someone throw their damn back at someones legs if they are trying to be dirty. He was obviously trying to pull away. You are seeing what you want to see. The collision happens at the same time the ball is leaving the hands of the QB so you are completely wrong to say he hit him AFTER he threw the ball. And what if it would have been a pump fake? You can't just stop when you are that close because you see the QB cock his arm. Once again, you have your interpretation and I have mine, but don't come on here accusing me of condoning dirty play just because I don't see it your way. Narcissistic much?

I cannot get youtube videos up on my PC anymore. What happened??? WAs Refugio running it up on them and a fight broke out? LOL Refugio was up 6 to 0, played 3 different Qbs and had a bunch of Jv players on the varsity. The Jv won 4 to 0.

Refugios starting Qb may miss the next scrim with Yoakum with a hurt ankle. Lots of talking went on in the scrimmage so Refugio has some fault but Refugio didn't try to take out any AP players. The guy that got the shot on the Qb face masked the guy blocking him, I watched it on the game film.

I watched it on my phone, need I say more, I wish I could tell a little better what happened. When I get to a computer I will look at it again. Damn shame he got hurt. Hate to see that in scrimmages, those Injuries should be avoided.
