I think it's going to be another tough year. Did their qb leave for Vic? Or about her school?

But with a new coach and system we aren't sure what they're going to be doing offensively and defensively. may have an idea but not sure. That with any team always gives me pause.

Their coach is no reject. He's been to the big game before. It might take him a couple of years but he'll make them better.

Kreemers left Beeville his senior year to go to JP2. Blast told me a couple of weeks ago. He is a big kid and a pretty good pitcher. QB?

Hey, I've discovered this board recently and decided to join. I am a recent player for Beeville and I don't expect them to be great this year, for obvious reasons. I do think they could win some games though. The key for the new staff will be getting players in the correct positions to win games. There are some skill guys that could be good receivers if they get a quarterback that can deliver consistent passes. Losing Kremers hurts, but he has a big baseball future ahead of him.

What do you see holding beeville back. I am a Calhoun fan who had a kid on the team back when beeville was really good 06-09ish. I have another son on the current team. What will it take for beeville to make some noise this year?

What will it take for beeville to make some noise this year? The biggest thing I saw from my experience was that there has to be an attitude adjustment throughout the program, coaches and players. I came up with a team that lost maybe 4 games until I made varsity as a sophomore, so we had some talent. It had been my goal to make varsity as an underclassmen for a long time so I was in the weight room every day with our summer strength program. The first week we had maybe 30 kids show up, and by the 3rd week I was one of 6. This is freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. I think players thought they had been good so they would stay good and didn't understand what it took to be a winner. The coaches (not all, but several) needed a change in how they treated players. We lost a lot of talent to players quitting because they just weren't enjoying it anymore because of how they were treated by coaches. I understand that football is an intense sport, but there is a difference between being intense and completely degrading players. That's my opinion from having been there.

Hopefully with the new coaching staff we can keep more kids in the program.

That's why I think about 90 percent of coaching at the high school level is about motivation. Some kids are going to be motivated to be the best already, but if you've got six players showing up in the weight room, that's a motivation problem.
