GP has a policy against visible tats, so if a player has one, it has to be covered.
I dont really understand the facination with tattoos nowadays. My son got one on the back of his shoulder last year. He was over 18, paid for it himself. At least he had sense enough to get it in an easily covered location. I just don't understand these guys that get them on their neck and face. Pretty much limits thir opportunities for employement in lots of fields.

Job stoppers..........A friend of mine has a nephew that showed him his new tat on his arm. He asked him what do you think about it? He said not much. Well what do you think it looks like? He said it looks like two new tires you needed for your pickup.

I think it is up to each school district to decide it's dress code. If it can be exposed at school, it should be the same at the games. I agree with freedom of expression, etc. But we live in a time where kids are hurting each other over what color shirt they are wearing. It is difficult for teachers and principals to police each and every tattoo that comes through the door, to make sure it is acceptable or not. So I believe the covered tattoo policy at school or participating in school activities is a good idea. If the kid is in the stands, he's just like me, a paying fan and can do as he pleases as long as it's not illegal. I also think to each his own. If someone wants to tattoo him/herself up, more power to them. I do, however, have a hand in interviewing and hiring for a local company. Some tattoos are real turnoffs, others don't bother me. If someone were to say that they don't hire because of them, this would be tough for their HR department to swallow. But, vulgar tattoos that are exposed in the work place isn't good either, so there has to be a balance with it all. Well said. I think make it a noneissue and don't allow them exposed at all. Cuts out someone having to decide wether its acceptable to them. Then it becomes a personal preference issue and I can see a boatload of problems with thaT. I'm not anti tattoo. Like I said I have a few. But I don't think kids should have them. Nonsense. So where do you draw the line? Maybe when you wear Nike shoes it offends someone because of Nike's slave driving practices overseas. I mean it's all just so silly. If you have a problem with someones tattoos then too bad. It's your problem. Not the problem of the kid with the tattoo. Don't go to the games.

A little off topic but a true story. Couple of years ago one of my boat captains comes to me, needs a 750 advance or all sorts of bad things will happen. ( bear in mind he makes 100K plus) I give him the money on a Friday. Monday mooring our receptionist who keeps up with our guys on Facebook shows me where he and his wife were posting pictures of them getting their his/her tattoos.

No they shouldn't have visible tats. I have no problem with tats. I have them myself. But the question was asked so I answered. That doesn't mean they can't have th em bur don't have them visible. Cover them. This is a rule here in calhoun county. That doesn't mean kids don't have them

I think the question boils down to what is an appropriate tatt and what is not, and no one wants to be the one to tell one kid he has to cover it because it's deemed inappropriate, and allow another kid to show his because its deemed appropriate, what adult in the school system would even take on that job. There is not clear lines. Obviously the there are very inappropriate a tatts, and those should be covered. It's the tatts that walk the line that would cause controversy. Freedom of expression is very alive and well, however, we are also free to live with the tatt that we so chose to spend $$ money on.
I formerly worked for a local "government agency" city of port lavaca, woo hoo!! Ok on to the rest of the story, part of my job entailed dealing with the lower privlidged society who lived off the lone star card, unemployment etc, and it seems like those are the ones with the most tatts, and professional tatts are not cheap.'i have many myself, but if i was on government assistance, i certainly would not get a professional tatt over feeding my kids, or abusing tax dollars. But that's just me.

I dont know if they still do. Drove me crazy, i saw one lady buy 10 pounds of shrimp, and the very next day had three kids with her at Walmart, with a cart full of ramen noodles.
