Their defense might have huge falloff. Coach Bridges was a freshman coach when I was at Reagan and he is a skilled run game and option/read play caller. Marble Falls took the Lions DC, but Lee Bridges teams are known more for their running attacks than strong defense, but that is a Leander/CP tradition that he might not hurt. He took Taft to finals and Stevens to semis. He loves track and speed and Leander is pretty good in that area. He will put a great athlete at QB, just like they had last year when he gets it rolling.

Hey dtrain I see that you went to Reagan High in Austin. What year did you graduate, because I remember having a war with Reagan in the playoffs in 90. Great team with alot of great players. How do you see that tough north Austin district playing out.

Bridges is a good coach D. It will be interesting to see if he can take them to the next level.

How do you see that tough north Austin district playing out. I graduated in 87 when we were 5A semifinalists. The 90 team should have won the state title, BUT, Lee Bridges was not the greatest DC, but he had GREAT talent on defense. Their base defense was a 5-2, but for some reason vs any wing-t or t-offense they went to a nickle defense. This worked against Westlake, who tried to pass and could not run and Reagan won 14-3 in a game that was not that close. Vs. Tivy, the nickle defense was saved by a very good offense. The Calallen game saw the offense fall apart with turnovers and the defense was STUPID to run vs a wing-t running team. Guys off that team played D1 football 2 of them were in the top 8 in the olympic trials and they were extremely talented and had a first round NFL draft pick. Their OL was small, but very good.

Yes they were vary talented and fast, you guys had some very good RB's as well. I played for Tivy against you guys at Memorial stadium. That was a very physical and tough game. I thought you guys were going to go all the way. We beat Westlake that year, and they went on to state and lost to Wilmer Hutchins. Ok that was my Al Bundy moment.
