What I tell you about the Rgv teams, their tough and their no strangers to having success at these 7on7 sqt's all 4 rgv teams went 3-0 in pool play and will be battling each other in the semifinals, 2 rgv teams guaranteed a spot at state. Rgv Dominated today!

United dueled it out with Weslaco losing 56-45. Nixon lost to Harlingen South 20-12, compared to the other shootouts. I had mentioned how the majority of these teams run the ball more than pass. Weslaco also runs the ball, it's that they're well prepared and know 7-on-7 from a broader perspective.

Yeah it's shocking to see valley teams be among the elite on 7-on-7 every year.. I mean E-E lost to Lake Travis on a last second TD last year, Lake Travis! La Villa and E-E both have won national 7-ON-7 championships as well. Yes, this is not FOOTBALL and you need BIG linemen and SPEED for regular football, but valley teams can pass and catch with anybody!

Weslaco and Mercedes will probably pull out of the RGV SQT....might allow for a spot for Cal or anybody else interested from the Coastal Bend

Congrats to the Weslaco Panthers & Mercedes for qualifying for the 7on7 state tournament, it will be Weslacos 3rd straight appearance, and I think the Tigers 1st. Nonetheless great representation by the Rgv teams in corpus. Weslaco shredded Harlingen south in the semi-final game 51-6 and Mercedes got by Sharyland by a touchdown with under a minute left. Great job to both teams. Weslaco did win the coin toss, and ended in 1st place.
