I had been hearing a lot about the running back at flour bluff. Does anyone have any info on him? What does his prospects for varsity look like for next year?

I haven't though. I say it's better for the younger kids to play either freshman or JV to get more reps in and then move to varsity toward the end of the year like Gaines and Martin did.

I can't remember his name but he's very developed for an 8th grader. He can play somewhere on varsity next year. Skill positions other than QB won't be the problem for FB next year.

I agree with you JD. Most kids simply are not ready physically at 14 years old to go up against 16-18 year olds. THere are though a few out there that are. If you have someone like that, I think it is good to leave them on the freshman team like you said, or maybe move up to JV at mid-year and then when your team makes the playoffs, bring em up and get them the extra practice for next year. Hell, if they are good enough, give em some snaps in games when you are out front comfortably! Our RB will be playing in his 42nd game this saturday against Katy...........and he a Jr! This will be his 31st start

Oh and by the way, his name is Reidel Clayton. I was talking to his uncle today at HEB and he told me his mom is thinking of taking a job in Houston thus moving the kid. Hope that doesn't have to happen. I would love to see Flour Bluff win a state title with him as one of the sparks!

Reidel won the 100m by almost 10 yards at the district track meet this past weekend. He is a big kid also.

He won the 8th grade district meet. He ran an 11.2 100m. That is a good varsity time. My son said he saw him do a set of six with 245 lb on bench press the other day. It will be hard not to have him on varsity next year. I bet they at least move him up during the season. FB has had fast kids before. None of them has had speed combined with the size and strength of Reidel. He is the real deal. The kind that can carry a program.

HE IS PHYSICALLY READY NOW!

Lets just hope he stays healthy to get that shot at the next level and when he does........ any Texas school is good with me! That's exactly right. I hope he can stay healthy, stay out of trouble, and gets the opportunity to be the best he can be. He has a lot of responsibilities outside of school. I wish he could just be a kid and not have to worry about anything but his schoolwork and getting better in athletics.
